Title: Hearing Aids:
Post by: Montague on February 01, 2013, 11:28:33 AM
Does anyone have any dealings with hearing aids? I want to get my Dad one. He's been procrastinating for years due in combination to the price (I suspect) and the quality of them.

Any insight is welcomed.
Thanks.

Thanks. That's a huge savings! Unfortunately, Dad never served.
Do you know if your neighbor's is a digital model?

I'll probably end up buying it for him, which he'll probably also throw a piss-fit about. It's just that I know absolutely nothing about them and need some kind of starting point.
His hearing has gotten worse over the years, but I've noticed a very drastic difference over the last few months.

Both he and his wife have one.   They both use tiny batteries but they are different styles/models.  I guess I'd have to ask them what to look for.

If you happen to think of it next time you see them, that'd be great!

Monty, you may want to check this out:

ABLE PLANET

http://shop.ableplanet.com/personal-sound.html

$500 each or $900 pair

We know a man that uses these these and he seems pretty happy with them.

WOW!! They have an awesome website! It's very informative, and they offer quite a variety of models. There is a center close by, which is good if Dad goes with this place because they offer free in-office repairs, cleanings, and adjustments for life.

They don't list prices for any of the models, but mention costs ranging from $750-$4,500 on their FAQ's page.

I will also call the number you provided above. There's no mention of the study on their site, so it seems only possible to get those details by phone.

The way the commercial was worded was kinda sketchy.  Probably just a way to get people in the door.

I would imagine. I haven't seen the ads on TV here, so I wonder if it is a local "deal" they're running out your way. I'll have to locate some consumer feedback NOT from their site.
