The way I see it, Charles Ramsey is a true American Hero!
That media clip where he goes into the details (McDonalds, nervous laughter, little white girls running into his arms) of his heroic deed was classic.
Long live King Ramsey!

Exactly, dude helped these women out. Not everybody who does a good deed is going to be squeaky clean.
And what they are doing now, might discourage others from doing good----I guess it's true, no good deed goes UNPUNISHED.
-
The guy is a hero. We shouldn't judge, maybe his wife deserved it. I mean have you ever dealt with a woman, they can be quite aggravating.

911 Call:
Charles Ramsey: 'Hey bro I'm at 2207 Seymour Avenue, West 25th. Hey check this out, I just came from McDonald's right? And I'm on my porch eating my little food and this broad is trying to break outa the f***ing house next door to me.
'There was a bunch of people on the street right now and sh** and we are like, "Whats wrong with you, whats the problem?"
'And she's like, "This mother f***er has kidnapped me and my daughter". Said her name is Linda Berry or some shit. I don't know who the f*** that is, I just moved over here bro.'
Dispatcher: 'Sir you have to clam down and slow down, is she still in the street?'
Ramsey: Seymour Avenue.
Dispatcher: Is she still in the street or where did she go?
Ramsey: Yeah I'm looking at her, she right now. She calling you all, she on the other phone.
Dispatcher: Is she black, white or Hispanic?
Ramsey: Err she white, but the baby look Hispanic.
Dispatcher: Okay what is she wearing?
Ramsey: Err white tank top, light blue sweat pants, like a wife-beater.
Dispatcher: Do you know the address next door that she said she was in?
Ramsey: Yes 2207, I'm looking at it.
Dispatcher: Okay I thought that was your address, that house.
Ramsey: No No, I'm smarter than that bro, I'm telling you where the crime was, not my house.
Dispatcher: Sir we can't talk at the same time, do you want to leave your name and number?
Ramsey: Charles Ramsey, R-A-M-S-E-Y
Dispatcher: Are the people she said that did this do you know if they are still in the house?
Ramsey: I don't have a f***ing clue, bro, I just got out of McDonald's.
Dispatcher: Can you ask her if she needs an ambulance.
Ramsey: You need an ambulance, or what? She needs everything, she's in a panic bro, she's been kidnapped so you know put yourself in her shoes.
Dispatcher: We'll send the police out. Thank you.

So we negate all his goodness at that moment!? Put those three ladies back in the house and forget it all happened?
-
No one goes through life without making a few mistakes. The only thing that is bothersome is if he took credit when he shouldn't have. He acts pretty humble about the whole thing and isn't exploiting it....yet. I'm sure there is someone out there scheming to exploit the guy and his 15 minutes of fame.

It was on Anderson Cooper 360. There was an interview on CNN with Angel Cordero (google his name ) who said he was the first on the scene, he was the one who heard the screaming and he was the one who kicked the door down and saved the women. Ramsey later showed up when Amanda was on the phone to the cops. There was a live interview on Piers Morgan with Angel Cordero and he said the same thing again and how he did everything. Mulitple eye witnesses said Angel Cordero did everything and even the woman living opposite the house where the women were living called Ramsey a liar
Everything written in this article was repeated during the interviews

Why did Ramsey lie about the whole thing? Why did he take credit and claim to be a hero when he did nothing?

It was Angel Cordero who saved the girl. The crackhead Ramsey is lying, he showed up after the girl and her daughter were removed from the house. Why do the morons of Getbig need to believe this knee-slappin' negro is a folk hero? READ the news and try to keep up.

I could care less if the guy ran 15 brothels and dealt cocaine, what he did was a good example for humanity to follow - hats off to him. In a generation of completely selfish invididuals, how many others would have said "fuck that - i'm not getting involved!"

That's not a surprise that he's been in jail...you can figure that out just by the way he looks and talks.....but fraud??? He stands to gain nothing from helping out those women.
Fact is that people like Charles Ramsey because while he's rough around the edges, he's a real person that appeals to the poor and down and out person

You're on a one man crusade to discredit this guy, why?? You act as if you were there & know Angels' story to be fact. Just because he went on TV to b interviewed doesn't mean it's true. Lance Armstrong went on TV & any other source he could find to say he was clean, didn't mean shit. like you, I wasn't there but either everyone is lying or this one guy is lying. Until proven differently, I'll go with the majority over the one.
The fact that he was on AC360 might be an indication that he's trying to exploit the situation for his 15 minutes. I don't see Charles Ramsey clambering for any attention, which doesn't seem like someone who's trying to exploit the situation.
-
The whole story gets worse and worse as it goes on.
The oldest girl has been beaten up bad and disfigured, evidently.
This guy was a fuckin' monster.
I'll give credit to anyone who was part of the rescue. If it is Cordero, he should get a medal and an award.

CLEVELAND (AP) — The man who famously put down his Big Mac to help rescue three women held captive for years in a Cleveland house will get free McDonald's for the next year, a company spokeswoman confirmed Thursday.
Local franchisees in Charles Ramsey's neighborhood have offered him free food at their restaurants, said Heidi Barker, a spokeswoman for Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald's Corp.
Ramsey was called a hero after helping Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight break out of the house May 6. Homeowner Ariel Castro faces charges. His defense team has said he will plead not guilty.
Ramsey had noted in an interview with a local TV station that he was eating McDonald's when the scene unfolded. He also spoke of it in a 911 call. Both the interview and the call quickly became popular online, and McDonald's caught wind of Ramsey's mentions.
The world's biggest hamburger company had said a day after the rescue on Twitter: "We salute the courage of Ohio kidnap victims & respect their privacy. Way to go Charles Ramsey — we'll be in touch."
Barker said local McDonald's owner-operators later connected with Ramsey.
"Out of respect for the survivors of this harrowing ordeal and the ongoing investigation, we have not shared publicly details of our outreach," Barker said in an email.
McDonald's also has made a $10,000 donation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the names of the three women and Ramsey, Barker said.
Ramsey has also been promised free burgers for life at more than a dozen Cleveland-area restaurants.
The restaurant where Ramsey worked as a dishwasher initially created a special burger in his honor, but eateries in the city decided a larger tribute was due, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported.
The newspaper said Ramsey was traveling and would get his reward when he returns.

Hundreds of new charges filed in US kidnap case
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The litany of charges against a Cleveland man outline in numbing detail the crimes his victims allegedly suffered over 10 years of imprisonment: August 2002, kidnapping. September 2004, kidnapping. November 2006, aggravated murder.
Christmas Day 2006, rape.
A new 977-count indictment filed Friday provides a painful look at what prosecutors say was a decade of captivity for three women in suspect Ariel Castro's home in a rough Cleveland, Ohio, neighborhood. Among the most serious charges: that he caused the death of one of his victims' fetuses by punching and starving her.
Among the most haunting: that he assaulted the women throughout their captivity, causing psychological harm to them and to the daughter he fathered with one of them through assault. And in another newly unveiled accusation, the indictment also alleges that on the same day that the child was born, Christmas of 2006, Castro raped one of the other women, who had helped deliver the baby.
"Today's indictment moves us closer to resolution of this gruesome case," Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty said in a statement.
Castro, 53, is accused of kidnapping the three women and holding them captive — sometimes restrained in chains — along with the 6-year-old girl he fathered.
He is charged with two counts of aggravated murder related to one act, saying he purposely caused the unlawful termination of the pregnancy of one of the women. The new, 576-page indictment also charges him with 512 counts of kidnapping, 446 counts of rape, seven counts of gross sexual imposition, six counts of felonious assault, three counts of child endangerment and one count of possessing criminal tools.
Authorities say the filing covers the entire period that the women were imprisoned, from 2002 until May of this year, superseding an earlier indictment that listed accusations for only some of the years. The indictment does not include charges that could carry a death sentence, but McGinty said he is still reserving that option. Castro will be arraigned on the new charges Wednesday. He is scheduled for trial Aug. 5.
Castro pleaded not guilty to the earlier indictment of 329 counts. A message was left with his attorney Friday seeking comment on the new charges. His legal team has hinted Castro would plead guilty if the death penalty was off the table.
A communications firm representing the women said they would not comment. The women released a three-minute video this week thanking the community for its support.
News that the women had been found alive electrified the Cleveland area, where two of the victims were household names after years of searches, publicity and vigils. But elation soon turned to shock as allegations about their treatment began to emerge.
Castro is accused of repeatedly restraining the women, sometimes chaining them to a pole in a basement — once with a motorcycle helmet over one of the women's heads — to a bedroom heater or inside a van. It says one of the women tried to escape and he assaulted her with a vacuum cord around her neck.
Later, Castro moved them to upstairs rooms where they were kept as virtual prisoners, according to investigators.
All the while, Castro continued driving a school bus and playing bass in local bands, with fellow musicians saying they never suspected a thing. He was fired as a bus driver last fall after leaving his bus unattended for several hours.
The picture of Castro as a friendly musician began to erode soon after the women were freed, as family members told of a man who terrorized his common-law wife, beating her and locking her in an apartment and the same house where the women were later kept.
Castro was arrested May 6, shortly after one of the women broke through a door and yelled to neighbors for help.
The women — Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight — disappeared separately between 2002 and 2004, when they were 14, 16 and 20 years old. Each said they had accepted a ride from Castro, who remained friends with DeJesus' family and even attended vigils over the years marking her disappearance.
Berry, 27, told officers that she was forced to give birth in a plastic pool in the house so it would be easier to clean up. Berry said she, her baby and the two other women rescued with her had never been to a doctor during their captivity.
Knight, 32, said her five pregnancies ended after Castro starved her for at least two weeks and "repeatedly punched her in the stomach until she miscarried," authorities said.
She also said Castro forced her to deliver Berry's baby under threat of death if the baby died. She said that when the newborn stopped breathing, she revived her through mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Castro has been held on $8 million bail. Cuyahoga County jail logs show him spending most of his time sleeping, lying on his bunk, watching TV and occasionally drawing or exercising.
