Congratulations to all the women who made the cut for the invites. What a tough decision it had to be for Mr. Lorimer and Crew!
I wish you all a luck at the Arnold and hope you all have a safe competition prep...especially Fitness Competitors. Can't wait to see some of the up and coming new athletes making their Arnold debut!

Whoops. Fixed that.
Nina is Canadian
Zhanna is originally from the Ukraine
Maybe adding a little more international flavor?

Does anyone know why so many figure girls ???

Is it just me or is there no hype for the Arnold this year. If you think about it fitness just doesn't seem the same. Last year I remember a bunch of members and guest discussing the selections and who should be on the list, etc. Do you think these few fans are gone forever. Fitness seemed like it was becoming more popular and now it seems dead. I blame the judging and lack of rule enforcement. The physiques are way to muscular and shredded to be "fit" Everyone knows what 99.9% of women must do in order to achieve those type of physiques. The routines, don't get me started. Where have all the top of the line routines gone? Think about it... from the classic "routine girls" (Semple, Lessig, Mak, Ryan, Hendershot, Newell, Hilton) only Hendershot is left. Her and Kline in the Arnold! Yippeeee I can't wait ::) .
Fitness needs some help! BIG TIME!!

Sad to report that Fitness Pro Debbie Czempinski ruptured her Achilles tendon on Feb. 14th while practicing her routine and won't be able to do the Arnold this year.
Here's wishing her a speedy recovery and much future success. The URL to her site is: www.debbiec.com

The list is clearly missing some athletes whose sponsors do not get along with the "Powers that be" or just plain don't have sponsors. I know some athletes that put their bids in and never even seemed to be in the running, even though their placings were consistently top 5-7 in shows they competed in the previous year.
Who?
-
hey canadian chicks are great but I think a US chick will win ie: Monica Brant
:o :D

I would have loved to see a bigger field of fitness competitors invited to the Arnold this year. It seems like such a small field compared to figure. Now with Debbie being hurt there are even less. Do you think they will replace her?
BTW - Do not know if Debbie reads this board or not but I wish her a speedy recovery!
-
I haven't heard that she will be replaced. It's tough to do at this point as another competitor would already have to be in shape and have been regularly running her routines and is set to go. Maybe someone else knows?
I think the Fitness field is starting to feel the effect of a number of things; injuries to athletes, retirements, crossovers to Figure, time availability, etc. It's easier to have more Figure competitors onstage without effecting the time frame of the show. But we certainly don't want to lose the excitement that Fitness brings, so maybe it's time to develop and support the pro ranks a little more.
Hey Stephanie, how are you kiddo? Looks like the fitness world still needs you onstage.

Thank you Kevin for the kind wishes, and to all the other people who have emailed me with their kind support. I am soooooo disapointed not to be competing. Hopefully recovery and rehab will be quick and i will be back on stage soon.
I wish all the girls the best of luck at the Arnold and hope to see them all again soon.
Love Debbie.C.

You're more than welcome Debbie. Hopefully in the near future we can do an article on your inspiring comeback!
If it helps to know, Tanji Johnson came back from the same type of injury and Kirsten Nicewarner actually tore both of her Achilles before she ever became a pro and obviously it didn't stop her.
Here's wishing you similar success.
