A person was bragging about how much they legpressed and I said "who cares? it's the leg press?!... that doesn't count as impressive.... EVER".

"But can you squat 500 kg?"
-
Did you ask Kegdrainer if he would be returning to Getbig?
-
I used to press 1,400+ lbs with 2 segments in my back fused. Not the smartest thing but my legs are stronger than hell.
-
Fuck leg press.

Weight doesn't matter that much, it's about how his legs look

but only 1/12 of the range of motion. That seem to be the secret of heavy loads in leg press among average gym rats. We have in our gym the mother of the all leg pressing machines, which has 280kg load even without any plates. I have seen it fully loaded, which means there is four bars full of 25kg plates, 10 plates per bar. That equals 1280 kg, and what this "bodybuilder" (douchebag) do with it? 6 reps with 3" range of motion. He hardly bend his knee at all. People were laughing out loud..And now you are thinkin what is the proper range of motion? It is the same which you are able to press without the load. That is easy way to check it. You lower the sledge as far it will goes while it is empty. That is your range of motion, and you should keep it as it is, with load. If you then still press with 500kg, you have some legs.

ha ha, yeh... i watch people do this alot, same goes with squat depth.... they squat like an olympic lifter with 20k each side, they squat just below parallel with 2 plates, just above parallel with 3.... then depending on how pathetic they are , less n less as more weight goes on

it's funny i saw a guy do exactly that one time at the commercial gym i sometimes go to. he actually took a piece of chalk and marked the spot he wanted the sled to go down to and for every rep he didnt go back up until the sled hit that chalk mark. i remember thinking that was a great idea.

Far too many twinks at my gym will load up the leg press with 7-10 plates a side, make lots of noise slamming the plates on the machine to attract attention of other gym-goers, and then sit down in the leg press and grind away pathetic reps that are barely 3" in range of motion. They will then climb out of the leg press machine, and walk to the water fountain looking at themselves in mirror the entire way, and repeat the above process. Cracks me up each and every time. Oh, and not to mention, most of these idiots wear sweat pants as they have scrawny legs to begin with.

QFT!
Then on chest day they go to the far right of the dumbbell rack for the big ones. Each increase in weight in incline dumbbell presses or shoulder presses equals less of range of motion. You would swear some of these clowns would be pinned if they ever brought the weight all the way down. They are just delusional about how strong they are.

If you are afraid to squat leg press is just excuse. Which I know you squat nj not talking of you in general.

The truth is that training like mad on squats is a bitch. I used to feel worse than a 20 beer hangover some days after going crazy. To me it is like benching, or anything else. Just find a nice weight range and do the lift correctly. 405 for 10 with a belt and cheap knee wraps is very worthy of praise. I remember trying Inzer knee wraps tight. Ended up saying fuck this. Those damn things are so crazy it is almost impossible to do anything in the 300-500 range. Kinda like the bench shirts where guys can't bring heavy weight all the way down. I do tend to like the slight bit of extra boost from cheap ass knee wraps you can buy at someplace like Wally World, but that powerlifting gear is nuts.
