Tony Stewart made fun of us mere mortals for not understanding his racing habits and crashes

he said that those little crashes are not bad and do not hurt nor do they injure him

now he just broke his leg in three pieces and needs multiple surgeries to try and save his leg for his NASCAR career

"Save his leg"? Is it that serious of an injury that he won't be able to sit in the car and race?

Not diminishing the injury, but with driving, there isn't too much physical activity.

Gas, clutch, gas, clutch, turn, repeat.

It is a little tougher than that and I am not a fan. Those guys are flying. Would have to be unnerving as hell to do it while hurt like that.

Agreed that it is a bit tougher than described, but after he heals and rehabs - wont he be able to still drive?

I like Tony but he is done for the year.

Manhandling a taxi cab around an oval at 200mph with no power steering is not easy. NASCAR drivers do have to do with a lot of physicality, even though you would question it seeing some of the drivers. I think formula one still takes the cake for physical driving though.

Tony is an arrogant dick head. He is one of the biggest pussies in racing. Picks fights then hides behind his crew. I know him slightly but I know people that know him very well. The people that know him well just put up with his shit.

Really? I have friends that are on crews that see him every weekend.... most of them say hes a friendly, down to earth, genuine guy, but that he has no problem telling you how he feels about you. That generally pisses people off that dont like what theyre being told. Lol.

My personal experiences with him was when he was in Indy car.we had a coup,e confrontations. I know people on some of the other NASCAR teams and he is not very well liked. I guess it is who you ask. He just build a house a little over. 1/2 hr from me. A good buddy of mine has been in it a few times. It has has a race car in one of the walls. Has a creek running through the family room. I cannot remember everything I was told about it but sounds pretty wild. One other thing I have heard is he is rarely seen with women but he does fly in some chick to that house every month or so. My buddy says she is about a 7 at best.

He never has a girl at the track.

Were you on one of the teams or something? Crew or driver?

No I just have lived in Indy all my life. I have worked for a Fortune 500 company for 26 years so I get access to everywhere at the tracks. Sometimes go to award dinners but mostly hang with teams, Hulman suite at the Indy track or pits. I have always been lucky to make friends that end up being great connections. I have an incredible collection of autographed memorabilia. Getting ready to sell some of it.

And you still had run ins with the dude, even though you werent on a crew or a driving a car? What does he do, just pick fights with random dudes at the track? Lol. This is odd to me, I've heard that he was fairly nice from 3 crew guys, and one tech official that I work with... The crew guys are guys I went to school with, one was an instructor that worked for Gibbs... One crew guy for Hendrick, two for Roush/Yates... At least they were. Don't know where they're at anymore.

My personal bad experiences with him was when he was in Indy car. Except for the last 5 or so years I would live at the track the whole month of May. With garage and pit badges the whole month. The first time I had an issue with him I was in the garage area and I heard this little kid tell his mom he wanted Tonys autograph. I told him he was in the bathroom and I waited with him until Tony came out. He politely asked Tony to sign one of Tonys pictures and Tony walked right by and ignored him. I yelled at Tony to come back and sign it. The mom goes nevermind he must think he is too good for his little fans. I walked into Tonys garage and got right in his face and called him every name in the book. 3 of his crew members stood in front of him while he proceeded to tell me he was going to kick my ass. I was escorted out of his garage. A year later the same thing happen with this elderly lady wanting an autograph. I yelled at him, hey Tony, remember me? He yelled over at a yellow shirt (track security) to move me along. After that I hated the fucker.
Met his mom a few times, she is really cool. He may have changed since going to stock cars but he still tries to fight drivers with his crew standing in front of him. I cannot respect someone like that.

2 Totally different types of racing, people that try to compare the two, or try to claim one is superior to the other, are generally extremely retarded (not saying thats what you in particular are trying to do here)

As far as the "redneck" that died, you are probably referring to Earnhardt Sr. He didn't refuse to wear it, they developed and required new restraints BECAUSE of his death.

I was just curious, since driving in circles is easy.

Seems to be easy for Brazilians. lol.

Emerson 2 times Indy 500 champion.

Helio 2 times Indy 500 champion.

 Gil Indy 500 champion.

Cmon man... Going around an oval in a Kart type car =/= racing a fucking taxi cab NASCAR chassis around an oval.... Hence why I have said in other threads, that anyone trying to compare NASCAR and F1 or Indy are completely ignorant to racing.

Watching a kart chassis go around an oval is about as much fun as putting a shotgun in your mouth.

Gil was my favorite Indy car driver. Met him several times and was extremely nice. Took a lot of time out fr the fans.

I was talking/curious about talent/skills.  well!! we know that rednecks would probably die trying to go full throttle on SPA.

About oval circuits... Emerson is a F1 champion that moved to Indy... and  became a 2 time Indy champion.

Another prove that F1 drivers have more talent/skills. there's no American team on F1... wonder why?

 And I'm the ignorant? ok.

Alright brah, clearly you're the racing expert. You seem to be unable to grasp that the conversation, at least on my end, was about going on the oval in a NASCAR chassis. In case you couldn't figure it out, it's pretty easy to go around an oval in a kart chassis. Also in case you haven't figured it out, there have been ZERO F1 drivers win a NASCAR championship, and vice versa. Should tell you that it's not quite as easy as you're trying to make it out to be.

Indycar =/= NASCAR

Going around an oval in an indycar =/= going around an oval in a NASCAR chassis.

I'm astonished with your comment. bump.

There's no F1 drivers in nascar... because nascar is sh*t.

No nascar drivers in F1... because it takes talent/skills.
