To what extent to other pro's monitor the boards. What is the general opinion of the different boards (MD, RX, Getbig, ext.) and the board members?
A LOT. The truth is no one gives to shits about bbing. Most people look down on it. So, take a group of guys with inflated egos, and talk about them on the internet = those guys won't be able to stay away. I'm no different. I regularly peruse GB, MD, Rx looking for my name in one of the thread titles. Hell, I am sure there is some ego involved in me doing this Q and A. I'm not getting paid anything, yet here I am typing away.
The answer is = yes. They all look. They will all read this. It's the nature of the beast.
What do I think of the boards, they are 99% stupid. How can I take it seriously? Most of the posters are kids who haven't even competed, and those same kids say. "He has a flat chest, a week back, narrow clavicles, no hang to his hamstrings". But some of the time the boards are entertaining. Either way, I can't stay away for long.

Of the pros that lurk on GB? I think all the pros lurk on GB. They just don't admit it. I remember I used a Mr. Olympia's laptop on a flight and when I opened up his browser "Gossip & Opinions" opened right up, and the username was one many of the GBers would recognize.
The most hated would have to be between Lee, Bob, and Shawn. When Shawn and Bob posted on GB they were harnessed endlessly. Bob gave it back, but those interactions convinced me, and many other pros, not to post on GB ...

He seems like the type that would. But Craig always seemed like a psycho but he craved attention so much and was so possessive. Between his jail time and drug habits and dragging Kelly down with him it's no surprise he ended up in jail. I remember back in 1999 at the first expo here in Vegas. I was 19, I was all excited and stoked, in my home town! This is when the expo and the show used to be at the Mandalay Bay. I gotta say as a teen I remember reading all the stuff in Flex, and Musclemag (PIP) about him. although not tall he was quiet impressive. Massive neck, thick ass hell and veiny with a menacing grimace. Not to mention he was huge. There was a fight between two bodybuilders in the expo right in front of me, I don't know how it started I just remember that it did and I didn't want to be in the middle of it. Well they're rolling around on the ground and here comes Super Titus to save the day. jump right in the middle off the fight and immediately the guys stop in fear when they see who it is and Craig walks off like a badass. I'll never forget that. Although very getbiggerish of him. I think it takes a certain conceit to do this and Craigers certainly was never short of that.

Titus is always nice to his fans, I'll give him that. But yes, there are plenty of other stories around about Craig. He was quite the character. Apparently he went to Aaron Singerman upon Aaron's request and agreed to post anonymously. That's their story at least. Upon reading the entire thread, it seems entirely plausible he is a pro. He talks about everything in great detail that makes it very difficult to argue otherwise based on writing style. Who knows though

[ Q ] What do think of the message boards that so many bodybuilding fans have been using to talk about the sport of bodybuilding and everything that has to do with it?
Let me explain what these message boards are to the many readers that will not know. On web sites like Getbig.com and many others there are message boards where you can post a message, make a comment on the subject and basically say almost anything you want.
These message boards are the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to this sport. What you have are "has been" pros that put down other current pros because they're very bitter about their career. You also have pros like Shawn Ray that go on these boards and release all tid bits of negative information leaving a wide open forum for all that read to just simply bash and make the most derogatory remarks you have ever seen.
I personally try and never look at what's being said on these boards and even tell my friends not to tell me anything that they read on these boards. Most of time it's a 14 old kid just typing away at his keyboard tearing apart the integrity of a hard working athlete's career.
You don't see the National Football league putting message board on the internet, or any other association for that matter. I guess they have more common sense then the bodybuilding community does. I say never read or even go to any of these message boards so maybe some day they will just simply go away.
