All Keynesian wet-dream cities. Strangely, the economic powerhouse cities of the past 20 years are all from Asia...but don't make the cut. I guess nothing worthwhile is going on there. ::)

I'm not Australian. ;)

I personally would love to move and live in Bend, Oregon. Been there 3 times. It's a City with a laid back small town feel to it. Sunny weather, short commutes, tons of golf courses, skiing, hunting, fishing, clean fresh air. Love the place.

Lived there for several years. Beautiful country, ugly women, great fall, long winter, two weeks of summer, irritating California retirees, no jobs, housing is expensive.

Vienna only deserves the spot if you're just cruising the 1st district and select parts of a few others.
It can't hold a candle to Australia's offerings.

I live in oz but was in Vienna a couple of weeks ago, would have to agree. As awesome as Vienna was I can imagine it'd be pretty grim in Winter, we can hit up amazing beaches and coastline year round.

The crime rate where I live is extremely low, good police, and best of all the second amendment to the United States Constitution still stands. 8)

Ass backwards Florida when it wants to be a Southern State. I'd take a beach in Panama any day. FL isn't much different than TX except for the water. And I passed on both states.

Despite what you've heard in the media, guns are a complete non issue in the United States (unless you're in a bad area of Chicago where they're banned).
Basically, you've got a very, very, very low chance of being a victim of gun violence in Australia, whereas in the United States you only have a very low chance.
Not to go on a tangent here, but one group of people in a society has no right depriving the other group of their natural right to protect themselves and their family. How creepy... :-X
-

Yes the Scarecrow, Tinman, and the Cowardly Lion where seeking a brain, a heart, and courage respectively and went with Dorothy down the road. They all had everything already but needed believe in themselves = confidence.

Standard of Living though, is a pretty lame measure, used by mediocre people.
Bratislava has a high standard of living too if you can afford it.

Top 10 Cities is like Top 10 at Mr.Olympia ;D

Harare,Lagos & Port au Prince would be perfect locations for Wiggs & his tribe ;D

Melbourne is the best again, third year in a row.
Love this place, home of Doherty's Gyms. Best gyms in the best city, life's good!
-
Well, we're in the process of buying a home in Kentucky and love it out there. Kid wants to go UK for baseball so it will workout well. Our escrow closes next month but not moving there for about another 4-5 year's.

That's a bar in Hillcrest San Diego. I got put up down the street by a company I was working for years ago.
Probably the gayest place on earth, at least that I've ever seen.

main strip along the beach yes, but these days GC is much more. I just love the place, it is not small but not big either just to my liking (around 600,000 people).
Climate is perfect, beaches great, business is good... I cannot ask for more.

I like how they mention Zyzz on juice but don't mention his pre-existing heart condition and massive coke habit. Typical media.

Nice for a holiday but I prefer my place :)
Based on gear availability alone, I expect that most GB'ers would prefer Thailand to OZ.
Among GB'ers, Thailand wins in a landslide when you factor in the availability of ladyboys, of course.

Sydney is great if you like:
- overpriced houses
- ridiculous rents
- expensive everything really
- shitty roads and traffic and inconsiderate drivers, god help you if you are a cyclist.
- generally rude and snobby people zombified by their iphones and ipods.
- immigrant enclaves
If you are a new home buyer you will probably only afford to live 40+ km from the centre of the city, so you will spend 2 -4 hours a day traveling to work.
Sydney reached it's peak at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has been declining since then.
Apart from that...
the main problem I see with Sydney apart from being expensive is a fast pace, stressful life, typical rat race city. Mind you it is a beautiful place.
-
same could be said of any major city...
-
Toronto is a pile of shit. Anything outside of toronto is a million times better in the GTA.

you are right but Sydney is way above the rest in Australia in that regards.

Toronto is full of Jamaicans and hatians. Pure filth people. Toronto has the largest population of Jamaicans outside of the island itself. Toronto has the second largest Black population in North America behind LA.
So what you refer to as Canadian is white bread, not the Africans, island folks or Asians that have saturated that county in the last 10 years.
-

Great countries. NZ would prob be too warm for me, but it's def on my wish list.

We are generally pretty lovable. Like imagine the joy of having a pocket full of Heath bar minis. That's pretty much "female chocolats," as you put it. You'll probably get really fat hanging around with us, but it's cool, because you enjoyed every effortless minute of it.
And by "female chocolats," I mean me.

Don't move to Sydney, probably the most racist city I've ever lived in. Melbourne is much cooler all around.

LOL! Well said, and I have 'sweet' memories :)
Those Heath bars look damn tasty. 'Glad' we don't have them here in Europe; they look as addictive as B&J ice.

The South Island has a very cool climate. It's much prettier than the north island as well. I have been to both islands and prefer the South Island for its beauty.

Haitians in Toronto ???
Yeah we got blacks dp and the jamaicans are the ones even other blacks don't like. Had a co worker from ghana who got his car stereo stolen and he was all pissed off saying I bet it was a fucking jamaican...lol. Stay away from eglignton and keele...jane and finch...regent park...scarborough...rex dale and you'll be ok.
Regardless, Toronto is safe...a cake walk compared to the ghettos in the u.s and the rest of the 3rd world. It's a joke really....
You better enjoy or at least be able to put up with long cold winters if you decide to move to Canada.

I've copy-pasted this info, thanks for pointing out these areas. Every large city has his risk zones, so I'm not surprised by this. Wherever I go, I always keep an eye open ;)
Not sure when I take a trip, prob next year around May.

I don't know where edb pulled out that number about the city having the second largest black population in north america. When you come and if you stay in the actual city of Toronto not it's suburbs you'll see there's a good racial mix.

Richland street is becoming a minority avenue.

My contacts aren't living in the city, but somewhere in the South, nearby the coast.
Etobicoke, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton...? I've heard the name only once.

Etobicoke is considered Toronto now and is fairly close to "Old Toronto" which includes the downtown area. That's where I'm from "old toronto"...people say there's lots of east indians, chinese, blacks in Toronto but that part is mostly white but I'm sure that includes the Italians, Greeks, Portuguese, etc. Gotta remember the closer to downtown the higher the housing prices/rent...

Oakville and Burlington are much more suburban about half hour drive away from the city. Hamilton, is a small city about 45 mins away with a lot of white trash and some ghetto areas. Can find more affordable housing in these places but if you work in Toronto the commute will be a huge headache to deal with on a daily basis.

Yes man I remember being in a cab looking out at Lake Ontario a Muslim driver. I loved Toronto walking to the Skydome on the street in the cold to watch NBA. Going to strip clubs etc. Strange for work once I flew from Merida Mexico in one day to Toronto I'll never forget it.

haha yeah seems those people have taken up the cab jobs like in other cities like new york...makes for some smelly cab rides. I've flown in from hot humid weather into the frigid cold of the great white north. Its quite a trip...not just the weather but the difference in the standard of living from one place to another as well.

It's very strange how the whole world has changed in recent years. I bought my house about 10 years ago just a young kid in a rural area now I can't even get out in the road if around 8:00 am.

Same everywhere...
Places where it was farms are now filled with homes and shopping centers. :(
Human overpopulation of peace...

All rubbish. Best country in the world Saudi Arabia. Best conditions for muslims.
Hi Turd
Not sure the Saudis will admit a dog-eating scumbag, Muslim or not. But you might try Somalia. Take a Quran, by all means, but also take some guns and poison gas. Just in case.
