Great documentary, still makes me cringe when Magnus snaps his arm.Still think the early ones were more "pure",the ones with Kaz from the early 80s.

Over the last 6-7 years, I've become somewhat obsessive about learning the history of strongmen. I've always watched it and somewhat followed it, but studying it is whole other world. When I was training Oli Thompson, all though he doing mma (has a fight on the same card as a  fighter I'm training in Poland on Sept 28) we would sit for hours just talking training and strongman.

Remember seeing Oli when he won Britains strongest man,had high hopes for him at the world level.Only thing i don`t like in the last few years of strongman contests has been when they have atlas stones platforms that are that high that even 6 foot guys struggle to lift it.

As much as would love to compete in one, I'm just too short and probably to old now and my hands. Are too small for most of the thick bar events.

Totally agree. There are some around that are for smaller men, like around 230lbs. At my age I have no desire to risk my health going above 230-240. Not concerned about the injuries that go along with it, I'm heavily insured..lol.
