It's OK....but not my primary business. I develop coin laundries and distribute industrial laundry equipment. Also broker existing units.....and business is picking up again, 2 units sold and going into construction in Louisiana and 1 in Mobile AL.
Plus some others.

I haven't drive the Model X but I did drive the Model S and it was a great car - it exceeded all my expectations. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you do get it. I am seriously contemplating a decked-out P85 Model S.

not much to say about the Tesla, but the coil laundry sounds interesting.
what kinda overhead am I looking at? water/electric? how many units (washers and dryers) would you say is the minimum? more cost effective to buy an existing coinop biz or build my own? (obviously an existing laundry would have an established customer base already, so that'd be priced in).

Utilities run 20-25% of gross sales......plus your fixed expenses rent, insurance, note, payroll if attended but then you can sell items behind the counter and do wash dry and fold. New is good, existing is good if the deal is right, customer base is not a significant characteristic.....coin laundries are destination spots so as soon as they open within 6 months they hit 90% market saturation. Need to be liquid for 100k to get in and make it.....ROI 20% on a good buy I have had them produce 70%....but rarely norm is 30-40. A new build 2500 sq ft store I sell for 450-550K but that's the high end construction and equipment.....I don't do discount stores, never had a failure. We've built over 60 units in the last decade....the last 4 years being shit years 70% decline in our development, people are broke.
With the 179 deduction up to 500k tax deduction so no taxes, for some a 40% return day 1.
-
A 25x60 foot "shotgun store" usually carries 22 washers front load and 10 stack dryers...cost to build 1500sqft store 300k give or take.....turn key.

Got to admit, for an electric car (any car for that matter) its a beautiful car. I see why they made a profit.

Price points a bit high.....but they say the X model will be a bit less ouchie on the pocketbook around 60k....for the upgraded battery but not the 4x

My dad JUST ordered the Model S two weeks ago... Can't wait to go visit him and borrow it for a few hours (if he lets me LOL). 0 - 60 in 4.1 seconds.
And that 17" screen inside is SICK!
Too bad he got it in the ugly grey color like in this picture.

Its an S-550, and he still owns that as well lol.
Funny, when he told me he bought the Tesla I was like "I didn't even think you knew what the hell Tesla was"
and he was like "oh yeah, of course, the company is owned by the guy who owns PayPal"
Then I go "I didn't even think you know what PayPal is!!!"
And he responds, "Do you think I live in a cave or something? One's gotta keep up with all the new technology coming out son!"

The Model X doesn't come out until next year I think, right?
The dealer told my dad if when the X comes out, he likes it better they'll let him exchange it. I like the Model S better, but this is up in Toronto, so the X may be more useful for him in the snow!

If you don't mind me asking, since you change cars regularly, do you usually lease or buy?

I buy, actually my LLC's buy and then depreciate the vehicle so the tax deduction passes to me....all LLC gains or losses pass to the taxpayer.
A dear friend sell the old vehicle on his lot. The realized amount is applied to the new vehicle plus 10k is added. The balance financed for 24 month with a duel title LLC and me, when last payment is made, the vehicle is sold to me for $100.......then rinse repeat rinse repeat. Because we have always 3 vehicles for two drivers we have very low mileage on them....example the sequoia 2008 has just over 40k.
Edit.....I do the same thing with iPhones ;D

Oh that's awwsome! Good deal.
I was under the impression that an LLC would benefit more from the tax breaks that come from leasing. But sounds like you have the formula all figured out :-)

Beautiful car! Electric or not What is the milieage range before it needs to be charged?

With a lease you get to write off the entire lease payment as an expense....while the lease holder depreciates the asset.....people who will lose on resale and don't know how to sell vehicles might be better off with a lease....we do not suffer from this limitation 8)
Plus I get to list it on a balance sheet....while a leased vehicle cannot be.

150-180 miles on standard battery....but they have an option for a 300 mile

Fucking Betas discussing electric cars. Real men drive gas or diesel sucking American made automobiles. Not toy cars that run on batteries.

What's the best way to get oil & grease stains out of canvas drop sheets? Would I find a machine capable of the task in such an establishment?

Tesla is the equivalent to the apple iPhone when the first one came out..
Nothing beats the sound of V8/V10/V12
Who cares about electric cars!! Has NO soul
-
tesla is awesome
GREAT aesthetic design, and for all those yammering about the "beauty" or "soul" of a v8, consider the "elegance" of the tesla's engine, then get back to me

I'm aware of the 918 spyder my dad owns a GT2 RS and he wants this new porsche ;D
But it's not fully electric it's a combo of combustion engine/electric/hybrid and I think that's where it's at not TESLA! That 4.6 V8 sounds astonishing
There's more soul in an combustion engine compared to a tesla battery car...

Does your dad have the money for this million dollar car? And I think it is limited already, with the buyers already having ponied down a hefty deposit. Plus, you get a brand new 911 Turbo as well. So you get two cars with the purchase of one.

It doesn't , there's no combustion engine , no emissions, it's not a 4 cylinder nor any other type
Where's the motor genius?

Yep! He's a porsche guy , I know it's limited to 500 or so worldwide, I'll have to talk to him when I'm back in California. He's had a 997 turbo years back when it it first came out in 06 I believe. His daily is a cayenne GTS

The motor, which in the base model cranks out a healthy 360 hp along with 300 ft·lb of torque, is mounted on a subframe and is located between the drive (i.e. rear) wheels. I hope this helps.
