Title: Do you pack your lunch for work?
Post by: Obvious Gimmick on October 11, 2013, 06:50:23 AM
If so, is it for health reasons, finances or logistics?

I pack mine for logistics and finances: it's a pain for me to get away for anything decent and being HEBREW I'm too cheap.

I used to buy 2 meals at work and like 3 coffees. I added it all up, over $100 a week. I now bring my food and coffee. Saves me so much time and money. Now I probably spend $20 a week and don't have to wait in line. I know people are big on those lunches with co workers, but fuck that. Whats the point in working so you can buy food for work?

I pack my own food. I also fill my own bottles with water. Paying for water is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen.
I got into the habit of taking leftover dinner to work the next day, always get a good meal that way.

I would drop a couple grand on a good piece of equipment and never say a word, but I would beat my own ass for spending $1 on a bottle of water. I hate wasting money.

When dieting, yes..... just no other options.

Otherwise, theres a place that's 2 minutes away with huge, delicious pizza slices for $5.  I've gotten it +100 times, and the thought of it still makes my mouth water.

Yes, sounds great, but do you have a river to park it near?

pack my own. finances primarily. even 6 bucks a day adds up to 30 a week, 120 a month, 1440.0 a year. Grocery costs remain the same wether I pack lunch or not.

Maybe.  That's a little more information than I'm willing to just put out there.

Outed, you park that thing next to a culvert. You don't even have enough gas money to get to a real river, pathetic.

Absolutely pack meals in a small cooler. Usually i have 2 meals packed and a shake. I see other people plop down $10 a day for lunch/water. That's a freaking car payment when you look at it monthly. I'd rather be healthy and save money. (Yes Hebrew)

Right now I'm packing lunch to save money and have better quality food.   Although I do buy my breakfast at work each morning.  The cafe knows me....every morning 9-10 egg whites in a cup for $2.  If I don't pack lunch they know me then too.   Double grilled chicken and a cup of rice.....$4.

I keep tuna and oatmeal at work year round for in betweens.

Yes it saves a fortune.
Im a builder and self employed and driving around to look for a shop is a waste of time and money. Wor lass makes a sandwich and puts it in the fridge and can just grape whatever else I want to take on way out in morning.
Had a labourer in a week ago and had to drive the fucker to kfc every day.

It's not like groceries are free.... Yeah it saves money, but unless you're eating lunch for $10+ dollars, the difference isn't gonna be that big.

The prices Man of Steel mentioned sound on par with grocery costs

No clue, but I'm 32, and my waist isn't like it was at 24. I'd say realistically, 18%, but I've never had it checked, just going by bro science and what I've seen posted. I'm 6'4 and right now am about 250, but look my best around 228 or so. Juicing in college I was 243 and had decent cuts. I am fairly active, but my job requires me to be all over the place, and the lunch thing is more of an escape. Maybe I'll start packing lunch and eating healthier, as I have a Caribbean vacation in January that I don't want to look like a typical American on. Waist size is 38, but even in good shape it was 36.
