The chant was used during the defensive war against the Ottoman Empire. It has nothing to do with Nazi's.

No shit, Mussolini used it before Hitler, which he got from the roman salute. But, since Hitler did it, it will now forever be tainted.

WHY did the USA destroy Yugoslavia?

Well I recently saw a movie made by a Serb who lives in Canada, and it says that communism in

Yugoslavia really worked, and that the people were happy, but that the USA and NATO countries

didn't

like it because it was neutral, and it was trading between the Eastern block, and NATO countries, and

as a

result, USA spies destroyed the Yugoslav economy, and they sparked the ethnic tension, which

provoked

the wars. I want to ask, is all this information true? And why the USA didn't like the country?

Why did Clinton intervene? ???

Because the Yugoslav army which consisted of Serbs and the Serb militia called chetniks decided that the other nations that formed Yugoslavia at the time should not have their independence and so they attacked them. What followed next was what all wars do to men that are fueled by either hate or vengeance/revenge.

Yeah, but how was that any of our business?  No oil? No strategic positioning? What was our real interest there?

I'm not an expert but I am unbiased, something he cant claim. I stick to the facts and that's what happened. Simple question, did Bosnia, Hercegovinia, Croatia, Slovenia, attack Serbia?

No.

It is very well documented who had the weapons and the means and who carried out the initial aggression during the 1990's.

I talked to several men that served as peace keepers there and they all came to the same conclusion as to who the aggressors were. Some guys on this board were there and PM'd me some crazy shit but I promised not to divulge.  If Yugoslavia was just allowed to melt away as Czechoslovakia did there wouldn't have been any problems.

Anyway, Im bored going into this shit all over again. Fact remains, this player did nothing wrong. If anyone wants to be critical of him its that he sucks as a player and is not the brightest guy playing and not this Nazi sensationalism that people rely on to sell and make money.

  Great posts Dundat. Thank you.

No problem my man.

In the end, theres good and bad of every race, gender, creed and color. Not all Serbs are bad, not all are good, same goes with Croats, Bosnians, etc....they really just need to let it all go. Leave the past in the past. Respect each other and leave each other alone. They shouldn't demand things that aren't theirs to begin with and whatever other bullshit the minority causes.

It'll take time as those that lost loved ones get older and pass on. Hopefully the future generations can learn to make it work.

Ro6er Bacon is asking what I want to know as well. WHY did the USA do it. WHAT did the USA get from it? Money? Resources? Land? What?

There is no doubt that the main reason for the US intervention was for its own worldwide dominance. Humanitarian reasons were not at the forefront of its mission but it still does not take away from the facts as to what had occurred there.

The US took advantage of the situation there for its own gain on the world platform.

With respect, you seem to have the inability to separate what happened in the 1940's and what happened in the 90's. They are separate events and should be treated as such although that's what causes much of the problems over there, the inability of the people of that area to simply... let it go.

No, the whole of Croatia was not suckered up to the Nazi regime as is clarified in your next statement.

I agree, I don't like getting into these long debates either, I also agree with the rest of your commnets. I have nothing personal against you and would like to keep it civil.

yah its a very good and funny movie, its actualy anti war movie, but bc the subject is soo touchy, there will be conflicted views.

but the movie, how it made, is brilliant.

dundat btw ,im not even a serb, im about as serbian as borat is.
im part croat though.

the 90s was "just" a contunation of the ww2 conflict, however kept regionaly.

you say communism sucks?ok but the nation was more socialist, it wasnt ruled by lenin.

and look what the nationalists of all 3 main sides have done.

yah i dont feel like talking about this anymore, its no good for the nerves.

Never said it was ruled by Lenin but it's parties associated with communism despite any other name.  Oppression of any kind during that time is not something I deem a leap in human evolution,  thus I consider it a failure, (not that it's current economic state is better. )
