My daily regimen....

1 vitamin c pill

Animal Pak is comprehensive enough to be deemed good. Their only downfall is their lack of time release mechanism (unless they recently changed it.) Also, not sure if Animal cold processes their vitamins? Beverly Nutrition does though.
Beverly SuperPak = best multi on the market.

Good idea. I like the "insurance" of supplements.

Complete waste of money. Not even up for debate according to legit doctors. See attached.

and as we all know, the best source of bodybuilding information is your doctor.
-
Multi
EFA's
Vit C
Magnesium (citrate)
NAC
I also use a lot of garlic and olive oil on food.
I make sure to get a decent dose of mid day sun several times a week, otherwise I'd supplement Vit D as well.

Keep it up... you have the 'crackhead' look down pat.

Do you feel the zinc makes any real difference?
Absolutely, but you have to watch how much you take or else you can get a copper deficiency. I've seen pills that have 75 mgs, which can be dangerous.

lol exactly what I was thinking..

Cool, will give it a go.

"It can't prevent mortality, stroke or heart attack."
Well, this sounds logical to me. Vitamins can't 'fix' bad genetics or an unhealthy lifestyle.

in recent years they started researching the dangers of superdosing vitamins and minerals, for instance taking a lot of zinc increases probability of prostate cancer
also, isnt stuff like animal pak super expensive?

there is no evidence that you actually get the same effects from tablet vitamins that you do from eating real foods. 5 fruit and veg a day is the way to go..
Think of the size of those tiny tablets compared to an apple and an orange, multivitamins = expensive piss

I DO almost all this fruit/vege wise and still do multi nothing crazy just few tabs..
-
IMHO Twinlab > all. Any time I try anything else I always go back to Twinlab. The slight cost bump is worth it. That's my experience anyway.
I don't train heavy or anything anymore but I still take their daily, flax / fishoil, probiotic, cal / magnesium.
Other then that I use fiber supplements and BSN Syntha 6 on the rare occasion I need some extra pritein anymore.

FYI: your local family doctor has an embarrassingly little amount of formal training when it comes to nutrition. This should be where you set the bar for "what's good for you."
-
I prefer eating plenty of leafy bitter greens.

Water and Multi Vitamins

Not sure how you guys think taking one of those tiny pills is going to replace eating a cup of blueberries, some apples, orange, some asparagus, kale etc.. Just eat good. very basic stuff.

Zinc increases your natural testosterone levels though. Also great for crushing through common colds or just avoiding getting sick in the first place.
Zinc + Vitamin C daily = no flu or common cold.
-
LOL!
All AMA (American Medical Association) propaganda.
No problem with poison prescription meds... which kill hundreds of thousands of people every year.

80% of the vitamins and minerals out there that come from China contain lead. So not only are these vitamins a waste of money, they are in some cases killing you.
-

Whatever Goodrum takes I am going to take.

:o Are you monitoring blood levels neegull? If so, where does that put you at? That's a shitton (which I'm sure you know)
As for multis/synthetic vitamins, there's not much evidence that they help and a good amount of evidence that they may be detrimental to your health.
A juicer/vitamix is the way to go in my eyes, but a greens/superfood powder is a good start. Maybe a low-dosed multimineral.
Whatever you do take, try and stay on the lower end of dosages.... far better to err on the side of too little
-
Would definitely bank that Vitamin-C chick.

Yes I get a full metabolic analysis done every 6 months. 20k IU during winter months keeps me upper normal, which is exactly what I want my D levels to be. I'm also 242lbs currently so my body requires a bit more than normal. I drop down to about 5K in the spring summer months for obvious reasons.
I current smash the greens powders.
Wish I could afford to juice but I would spend so much fuckin money every week on fresh veggies, it's just too expensive at this phase of my life as a college student. But I will eventually, no doubt it's the superior option.
-

Maybe it is because most people don't eat a cup of blueberries, some apples, an orange, some asparagus or kale, etc. everyday. BTW what is the mineral content of these foods?
In my opinion, multi-vitamins and mineral supplements are just cheap insurance that we are getting all that we need.
There was a time when only natural foods and no manufactured vitamins were available. In those times, the human lifespan was around 40 years. Speaking for myself, I am 20 years beyond that cut off date thanks to supplements.

Wow no kidding... that's not unheard of though, some people need up to 100, 000iu/week so I'd believe it. Crazy how low the RDA is compared to what some (most?) people need.
Bro, just toss greens (kale or spinach), half of a lemon, 2 stalk of celery, a carrot, ginger, half of an apple, a whole egg or two, and a scoop of protein powder/greek yogurt/liquid egg whites....or something like that. The ingredients aren't important, just use a wide variety of veggies. Juicing in the traditional sense is overrated. Smoothies is the best option for maximum nutrient retention and absorption. Cheaper & water too

I may have to look Into the smoothie thing more. Why do you think it's superior to juicing, besides the added fiber?
Yeah RDA is a complete joke. They just raised vitamin D from 200 IU to 800iu. Yes they quadrupled it ::) Fuckin idiots. I think every person should be on 2000IU NO MATTER WHAT.
Remember this is the same Government preaching high carb diets full of pastas and breads, and to stay away from fats. What a joke. Very hard to find good legitimate info out there.
