Heart Attack
No he did NOT have a heart attack. He suffered from an aortic dissection which can lead to spinal injury.
"Spinal cord injury is a rare complication in patients with aortic dissection. Spinal ischaemia has been reported as a complication of aortic dissection due to impairment of its extrinsic supply in the great radicular artery (GRA) of Adamkiewicz. The extrinsic arterial blood supply to the spinal cord, diminishes caudally and is believed to become critically dependent upon the GRA.(1) infra-renal aortic dissections (IAAD) inducing spinal ischaemia are exceptionally rare in the literature. We present a case of an infra-renal aortic dissection (IAAD) presenting with transient spinal ischaemia."

I'm usually critical of Kris because he's an embarrassment having continued with his poor lifestyle choices after repeated medical ailments. But at the end when he was pressing those weights that was pretty inspirational.
I hope the stupid dumbass recovers, but I hope he doesn't fall back into his old ways. He's got a horseshoe up his ass for even being alive.

His arms still look pretty damn big. I wonder if hes still using gear.

Remember how much oil he's got in those puppies? Scar tissue doesn't atrophy the same way skeletal muscle does. Muscle basically deflates, but that scar tissue and knotted muscle will probably always be relatively large.
I also wondered if he was on any sort of HRT. I'm sure the cardiologist and team of medical professionals wouldn't be happy if he was juicing hardcore. But I wonder if prescribed and monitored HRT is in the question.

He didn't hurt is back. He suffered a dissection of his abdominal aorta. A dissection is a tear in the vessel lining, often caused by some type of trauma. It's dangerous because it can weaken the vessel wall leading to an outpouching called an aneurysm, which can in turn lead to a rupture. Also, clots can form within the false lumen created by a dissection, as well as an aneurysm. Dissections also often spread, which it sounds was the case with Kris.

great recipe for disc herniations

Yeah prob herniated a disc or two with those deep leg presses, they're probably the worst thing you can do for the lower back. Radiculopathy means some degree of nerve impingement so you need to reevaluate your leg work.
I have 4 blown discs and only do one leg leg presses ONLY on a horizontal machine.
Squats may be ok if you can do them with absolute control and zero buttwink.
-
leg press is safe if you hold the back very tight
this means you have a pretty short ROM
common sense really you brain farts

i dont find handicapped people inspirational despite political correctness

Wishing Kris the best!
-
it was probably uncontrolled very high blood pressure (from high dose steroids) which lead to his aortic dissection tearing.
why is he still using steroids?
clearly he is on them in this video
he is obviosuly retarded and addicted to steroids to be still using steroids after what medical problems he's been through
-
Very motivational
-
Way to go Kris!!!! :o :o
-
Uhmmmm...
Wow.
He's already had two chances.
Heavy lifting contraindicates... fuck it. Man this shit is so fucking stupid sometimes. Inspirational? Yes... and ... no.
What is this? Three strikes your out?
I wish him all the best. That is, in making the RIGHT decisions.

I'm inspired by Chris's dedication to getting better and revolted by his continued abuse of Gear in the face of health problems. The weird thing is that both behaviors have the same source, persistence in the face of all indications that what you're doing isn't working.
On another note, I'm not convinced that he is doing anything for his legs here. It looks like the entire workout the legs are just being dragged along. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see any indication of leg movement.

"repeated" health problems...
End of story ~
-
If he keeps injecting steroids his future looks very Dim
-
He was lucky to be alive after his first heart issues which nearly killed him....then carries on. It's sad that some people juts can't give up the muscle addiction for the sake of walking and being alive relatively healthy. He just went straight back on steroids and the bb lifestyle and was on stage bearing the scars of an opened up rib cage.
Another DA in the making, swap kidneys for heart.

Great video! Fuck docs though...this reminds me of when my me and my family was told we had to prepare of me dying...if you get told this give em the finger and keep on fighting!

I agree, to a point.
As some of you know, I've been working with a Bodybuilding Legend who is going through the same thing. It's obviously going to be an individual decision based on your particular problem.
How many of us know someone who was told they would never walk again by their doctors and yet that person has been motivated to bust their ass for however long it takes... and walk again.
Now, you could say the doctor was being honest, ignorant or using reverse-psychology.
In this instance with Chris' heart problems, I can tell you with 100% clarity that raising his heart rate against an anabolic load of resistance is going to cause problems. This is not his first time, nor is it his second.
Great. The man won't give up, but at what cost? He has more people to consider than just himself.
Like the great Clint Eastwood said: "A man's got to know his limitations'
I say, wise up, swallow your pride, accept the fact that your competitive days are over. Have a talk with a good friend of mine, Mike Matarazzo.
Wise up. Live a little.
My opinion. Never gonna be everyone else's ~

Chris' Rep says that he should be ready to compete at the the New York Pro in May

Great recovery.
Maybe it's the oil he still injects in his arms that is helping in his recovery.
