Title: The first poem I wrote for my wife
Post by: BigCyp on February 24, 2014, 05:31:33 AM
If blessings were raindrops

If blessings were raindrops
And sunlight grace,
Then you are God's rainbow.
If sunset is the sky's last symphony,
You are the scarlet, sapphire calm.
If beauty is concealed upon unseen plains,
Then your eyes are the wild,
And if loved ones are expressions,
You are my smile,
And I would spend my last treasure
To keep your voice,
Where I could always hear you.

Has she ever wrote one for you?

I think she has?

Last week I came back from the gym and she wrote me a short one on the back a scrap piece of paper that was called "Take the fucking rubbish out you lazy bastard"

Love is grand and in the end all that really matters in this world.  I'm glad you appreciate your wife the way you do

True man.

You know when it really comes down to it all, and my worst fears were realised i.e. impending nuclear attack/tsunami/certain death/missed anabolic window - all that I would care about it just grabbing hold of my wife and children and telling them how much I care about them before we all go.

I might make a protein drink on my way out.  Tsunamis are extremely catabolic.  ;D

here's mine

bit of background- we had been going through a difficult time- I decided to put my feelings down on paper and pinned them to the fridge.

here goes

please forget the times we argued
the times I lost my rag
the times I lost my temper
out by your hair you i'd drag
please forget the moments
you made me lash out in a mood
and give you a right hander
for when you'd answer me back so rude
above all forget everything
and realise one thing
while you are reading this ditty
you could be doing cleaning
you fcuking lazy splitarse
don't even turn around
just get the fucking dishes done
and don't make a fucking sound

brings a tear to my eye- I never knew I had it in me

BigCyp, I kinda want to f*ck you now  ;D

Just playing man, that was good. Let people talk but it takes talent to speak to the heart of a woman. When I wrote my vows, my goal was to make everyone cry..or I fail.

You should have seen it, the whole room bust out crying. It was weird, priest, dads, uncles...all had tears. First year anniversary is paper so I had a professional calligraphy person write it out on a old parchment style paper then had it custom framed. Now I get to see my wife tear up every once in  awhile when she walks by it and reads it  ;D

Keep writing man, if that is your skill, your stress release, your way of expressing whats inside to people you love...just do you man, we aren't on this planet very long.
