Title: Was it all lies?
Post by: Cleanest Natural on March 13, 2014, 11:24:02 AM
Our beloved bodybuilding.. the Weider Instructional Tapes.. Franco Columbo explaining Matarazzo and Shelley Beatie at 9:50 how "protein takes 2-4 hours to digest then is stored in the muscle as glycogen and used as fuel"  :-\

Is there ANYTHING else to discover about our teenage "heroes"? I am sure he got them all mixed up and is not THAT dumb

Another Dr Franco gem: "meat is 60% fat even when it's lean and fish is 94% protein and only 6% fat"

Is this guy for real? Or were we that dumb and clueless about nutrition?

The best place to hide a lie is between two truths.

I know wiggs but most bodybuilders seem to be eating PB and cum sandwiches

I believe it was a combination of truth, bro science, and lies. The lies were to sell the public bullshit and make alot of money.

Sevs tries to stick to that with his posting, he does however on occasion break his own rule.

Those who live for truth and honesty as much as possible do. Why lie for profit? There is no progress this way.

lie for profit? it's marketing.

muscletech's NitroTech was 675% better than 'regular whey', remember? there was probably studies that could show that number was probably true in some respect... so they weren't 'lying', but it's still bullshit, no?

like I said.. it's marketing. who cares.

dont' like a product? dont' buy it and dont' waste your energy on debating whether or not it's 'right' of the company to make the claims it does. because at the end of the day, who cares?

Not the point smarty pants. It's lies for profit, not "marketing". I cannot lie to people and sell them something that does not work under the guise of whatever. This discipline, bodybuilding combines several sciences. Why not teach kids and young adults or the public the truth? Is it so hard to do?

they sold protein powder.

the buyers of the protein powder expected muscle gain and/or weight gain.

the buyers experienced muscle gain/weight gain.

doesn't matter WHY it works, or WHY they tell you it works, as long as #1 it doesn't harm you (like with pro-hormones) and #2 you get the desired effect.

if I buy a car, I expect that when I push on the gas peddle, the car will go faster.

now, if the car salesman says the car goes faster because of "atmospheric vacuum pressure sucking air through the motor  and transmission spinning all the gears", who cares if he's wrong, so long as the car goes faster?

Weider was the consummate salesman of snake oil.  so was Hoffman.   It was and has been all lies since drugs were introduced and then took over.  Weider was a disgusting schmoe.  It's all a lie now and has been for  years.  Every so-called champion is nothing more than a shill for hire.  Without drugs, they would be tiny tits.

You can deny the truth but that doesn't make it any less true.   Without the dope they are less than nothing.

When you show your clients your pictures do you tell them that it was the result of high dose steroid courses along with your diet?

They pay me for fat loss. Which I do naturally. All of them know that my best "look" is a result of steroids. I make a point out of being truthful.

They have all Weiders DVD available on Netflix.  I just saw some last week I couldn't believe they transfered VHS quality to DVD.

Also, The  Joe Weider's Bodybuilding Training System"  were taped  in 1992.

It features Benfatto Paris,(deep masculine voice) Matarazzo Yates. Labrada. All with good hair
Not a single bald bodybuilder

Weider knew what he was selling and how to do so.

Lee Haney, who was the best bb in IFBB history and most decorated Olympian was no where to b found.   Amateur Dillet and Wheeler also are featured as well as some female bbers.

It's all lie , Shawn Ray is so cocky he can talk with his mouth normally open.

Vince Taylor seems to be in better shape than most bbers in those tapes.

Shity forms for the most part, it's all pose for cameras and lies after lies, You even see Ferrigno acting like he's benching heavy weights and you can tell the bar is empty. Lol

I remember reading a musclemag rag and there was this article about how there are reported jugs of Nitrotech flying off the shelves so fast they are even being sold for $120 per jug. I believed it and thought that it must be magical stuff then and went out and got a jug lol

Whenever they ask me. I do not start with "Hi my name is Sebastian and I take steroids at the end of my transformations to look like this".  ::)

The trick behind nitro tech was so simple take some whey protein put some creatine in it and call it over 500 percent more effective than regular whey and dumb people will buy it.

Haney left for Twinlab in 1990. That's why he's not in that video.

Joe weider was a conman.  Plain and Simple.  Either his conscience crucified him throughout his life or he didn't have one, I believe it was the latter.

Sorry, I spelled conscience wrong.  But you obviously got the point.  I remember as a gullible teen all those decades ago believing the rubbish in his magazines.  I wish I had found out the truth earlier, it would have saved me wasting a bunch of time chasing an unobtainable goal.  I remember when I finally learned the truth in my early twenties how gutted I was and seriously wondered why Joe Weider and others like him would deliberately deceive other people for the sake of earning some dollars. Ever since I learned the truth I despised the man.  If anything it taught me a HUGE lesson about charlatans and con men.

its no different to all the protein powders , supps out there today

there is no scientific evidence to prove this stuff builds lean muscle tissue that is long lasting

all BS and lies

the only truth is that steroids do build lean muscle tissue that lasts but there will never be studies into this because it would be deemed "unethical" to run such trials
