Title: religion
Post by: paradoxno1 on March 21, 2014, 07:22:00 AM
Tell a story to one of your mates. Let that story circulate round ten other people before getting back to you. When the story gets back to you, will it be the same? No. Now you understand the concept of religion.

But, but , but the bible was written years to decades after Jesus' death by numerous people without firsthand interaction and then numerous stories were chosen while others were ommited and it was all by the hand of God who for 2000+ years has decided to me MIA.

Tell a story about a fist fight you saw at a party to one of your mates. Let that story circulate round ten other people before getting back to you. When the story gets back to you, will it be the same? No. Now you understand the concept of story telling.

Just tell the people about the history of Santa Claus. Ole St. Nick has made great progress in a few hundred years.

Santa is just as relevant as Jesus is.

Here is the truth about religion if you believe in it then nothing that I say will change your mind, and if you dont believe in it then nothing that I say will change your mind, so just shut the fuck up.

It would be more suited to Conspiracy theories.

Or somewhere between the forums for fantasy and mental illness.

Exactly. These threads are more tedious than going to church.

More tedious than servicing the padre at Catholic School.

I just wonder when some of y'all will learn that these comments don't bother me in the least.  I'm so immune to this stuff it's ridiculous.

Honestly all I get out of reading these kinds of things is the following:

If you wanna talk to me that's cool, but you can just skip these kinds of things with me.

Most people that make comments or object to religion on these boards aren't looking for discussion or to have their questions answered or their comments clarified with good theology.

Most just wanna hit and run LOL.

Even when I answer questions most don't respond either cause they don't really care or they just like having the question remain unanswered.  In their minds, if they don't reply back then in a backwards way the question somehow retains the status of "unanswered".

Some see a reply with more than 6 words and just ignore it altogether.  I guess some don't understand that a 10-20 word question can a have a lot more than 10-20 words in the answer.

I say meh.

AHAHAAH "respectfully"  ;)

Typical response by a devout religious person who thinks they are better than others because of their belief in god.  It is a narcisistic way of life.

And this validates you didn't read my post when I responded to this objection previously LOL.

fyi, the typical response from most religious folks is "no response" or "lashing out".

How did you glean that from his post? The guy usually takes on multiple attackers, replies thoughtfully, and never disrespects anyone.

Some atheists here (not Atheists) are insecure in their trust in themselves, elsewise why do these children continue to do their best imitation of a mini-messiah and raise these same topics/questions from the dead as though it were Lazarus from his tomb?

Your disbelief has no effect upon my belief and the reverse should be true.  Unless of course you're either unsure in  your dogma/canon/convictions or whatever you choose to call it or...Just an insecure wanker of an ass.

I think it's the latter.  I follow Christ but that doesn't mean I can't call brat a butthead.  I don't care if you accept Christ.  I don't care if you die in  your sins or in  your soiled Nasser brand Funderwear.  What I find unconscionable, no...ridiculous works much better here...  No...How about just plain pitiable and retarded?  Yes, you are both pitiable and retarded in your never ending quest to make yourself appear "cool" to others of your order, i.e., your fellow atheists.  Babies playing at being "clever".

I know plenty of Atheists.  By my faith, such as they are excellent people and that in the real world.  Some of them  are here and they know who they are and I salute them and am all too proud to call them friend.   What separates them from the atheists?

That while they choose not to believe, neither do they belittle.  I can easily honor such men and women for their beliefs or in this case, lack of same.  They understand my hope in Christ and do not share it but what we do share is friendship and the mutual respect that comes of it.

Never will I pray for you or try to make  you believe as I do.  Your salvation is not my concern and why should it be for you don't consider it to be yours either.  I trust your judgment in what you do for yourself for after all, you are adults.  Try behaving as such.

Oh, and neither will I deny my faith in Jesus of Nazareth.

I see.  Keep the number of members of your religion to under ten, apart from "your mates", and you are golden.  Small is beautiful.  Thanks for the suggestion, Ace.

Just one question: How many "mates" can you have?

It's a pity your faith and religion aren't helpful in preventing you melting down everytime you read opposing ideas or people ridiculing your insecurity driven need to idolise an imaginary father figure.

Your mother doesn't even love you, does she?  Run along now but take care lest you trip over you cell phone cord again.
