Post by: Oliver Klaushof on January 22, 2006, 05:16:44 AM
I encourage you, newbie or regular/mods, to help build this board by posting personal progress threads. Talk about your training, post pics, and give some insight.

Goudy you train in a real hardcore gym right? You don't even have heaters or air conditioning  ;D
Like when Rocco went to Siberia to train for his fight with Drago.

correct. i have seen ice once in a corner where water leaked in the roof and froze. plates can get stuck together. gloves are essential in the winter. however in the summer its so warm almost unbearable.

when i go there ill make a video of my breath condensing in the air lol.

funny you say that i went to my uni gym today. full of twats etc but had a good workout and the proper olympic bars made the lifts easier tho it seemed very thin compaared to the effort i use in uy other gym.

some strong lifts there, I would suggest you start up your own seperate thread to keep things organised. You also need to start squatting a lot more frequently.

Goudy, what kind of  training split are you on?   Why did you deadlift 2 days in a row? :o     I see an enormous amount of benching and deadlifting, my favorites by the way.    Is this because of lack of equipment or just because??

If you are progressing and enjoying your current routine by no means stop..

If you are looking for something to add - how about Bent Over Barbell Rows instead of Deadlifts one day. And Front Squats instead of Back Squats one day..  I have no doubt this would help add some new stimulous for continued growth.

Keep blasting away my friend and keep up the good work. You look great..

since about 16th december. started filtering in squats and deads around january. at the min im optimistic saying maybe 5 times a week, 4 more realistic with wed off. here is how my split looks roughly

monday:
bench, weighted dips, deadlifts

tuesday
deadlifts, chins, squats

wed
bench, weighted dips, squats

thurs
deads, chins, squats

friday
bench, weighted dips, deads and squats. generally tho days i may omit dead or summat if feeling tired etc. m lookin to break the irish national records in drug free unequipped powerlifting for T3 18-19 in the bench and dead and maybe total, i hav ethem beaten already just a matter of who turns up to see if i get beaten lol. squat, less sed the better but ill plug away and hopefully be squatting 150kg by end of year for a few reps.

dude, more than anything you're probably hurting yourself by deadlifting that much. Anywhere from overtraining your muscles to hurting your recovery by stressing the CNS that much that frequently. Ive seen some ridiculous routines, and though Im an advocate of high frequency training, I dont see how deadlifting 3 times a week can be of ANY benefit. Start training those posterior chain muscles by doing some box squats, and then either dropping deadlifts altogether for some time or dropping the frequency to no more than once a week. Trust me, your deadlift will improve from teh box squats(and maybe GM's as an accessory)

Post by: Ursus on March 07, 2006, 01:22:24 PM
i appreciate ur advcice. however the way i am training is goin superb at the min. as i have said before i am cycling my weights and if u look at the weight i was using a mointh and a half ago u will c i was still deadlifting similar frequency. at the start of dec id say my 1rm dead was 462lbs now im guessin its 505lbs, not a bad increase.

also i trainin with a wdfpf record deadlift holder and he deads squats and benches almost every workout, also im still gettin larger. heres a cupla week old pic to ilustrate my point
Title: Re: Start your training journals/progress threads
Post by: Ursus on March 07, 2006, 01:24:43 PM
in the above pic i was deadlifting 170-5kg 3x6, now i am on 185kg 3x6 tomorro all being well.

this below pic is when i was deadlifting the same frequency but on jan the 12th, i was only using 145kg 3x6

I cant argue with results but Ive never of and cant think of how deadlifting 2 days in a row is beneficial. are u sure the guy used to do deads 2 days in a row, even if cycling his weights?
Title: Re: Start your training journals/progress threads

i was for about a month taking something called progain by maximuscle was a lean weight gainer. no creatine i have kidney priblems and i eat a lot of food, mainly crap but cos i young and fast metabloism still i seem to get away with it.

creetine does work so if ya can afford it take it, whey too espec in morning and after training.
