TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young made a shocking announcement today at an IMPACT Wrestling taping that he will be sidelined for an undetermined amount of time due to neck surgery.
Choking back tears, Young, a scrappy bearded underdog who overcame the odds to become champion, assured fans that he would someday return.
“I don’t know when I’ll be back, but will I be back?” he asked rhetorically, prompting the live audience to holler his catch-phrase in unison while thrusting their arms skyward: “Yep! Yep! Yep!”
As Young was leaving the ring, accompanied by newlywed wife Brit Balla, he was suddenly attacked by the demonic masked Abyss, with whom Young has a long and confusing history.
Abyss nailed Young with his trademark “Gravestone Piledriver,” leaving Young incapacitated and in need of medical attention.
As Young was being loaded into the ambulance, Brit Balla squarely placed the blame for the attack on TNA boss Dixie Carter, who then stared awkwardly into the middle-distance.

Lmao
You had me going for a bit, mainly because it wouldn't be far fetched for TNA to do that.

something like this won't surprise me with all the recycled gimmicks. only odb is no brie bella, but abyss is sure a kane wannabe. they recycle these gimmicks down in the independants all the time . the samoans wrestling school put on shows in my area, at one time they had two guys that looked like crime time, a bunch of samoan wrestlers no surprise there,a batista look alike[ this is where batista started in wrestling plus tons of other wannabes[ i'm saying wannabes with respect because some of these guys busted there ass down there for little or no chance of ever making it big.

Any bets if TNA will be here 2015?
Their contract with Spike is coming up and there seems to be no backup plan.

Will it honestly matter?

If they don't have a TV deal, they're toast. They can't make money touring.
