The answer is both.
Chael announced his retirement from mma with a record of 28-14-1
He'll probably be back once he and his doctor figure out a better way to beat the system.
Entertaining guy nontheless. He'll probably continue as an analyst.

Too bad. Entertaining guy.

One of the few MMA dudes I actually like (no homo).

Awesome rhetorical question there boss!
I say INNOVATOR! Chael will end up doing SOMETHIN great....dude is talented beyond fighting.

No TRT, no marquee fighters like Sonnen, Henderson, Belfort, Vanderlei, etc and Anderson Silva broken beyond repair (and used PED as well), the division is dead. RIP middleweight division.

You're right.
He made anderson Silva into a superstar. Silva really got elevated thanks to Sonnen selling the first fight with all the trash talking and nearly winning. Everyone was waiting for the rematch. In wrestling terms sonnen played the perfect heel character to put over Anderson and was working on getting wanderlei over until wanderlei lost the plot and instead turned Chael into a babyface.
He also stepped up to take fights on short notice and in the process elevated his own career as an analyst on FOX. Well spoken and smart like a fox when it came to creating opportunities for himself. I wouldnt be surprised if he became a promoter for the UFC down the road. White made statements that effect that he thought Chael would be the best replacement for him.

Definitely, but in other arenas as well. Too much charisma not to be involved in greater things than UFC. He should never forget where he came from, but def entertain different direction.

Love Chael, mostly his personality, though.

He should be able to move right into WWE fairly soon and make even more money. The guy is great behind a mic...

Apparently vitor has been pulled from the 175 card since there is no official opponent. This means that he doesnt have to face the NSAC inquiry because he no longer needs to apply for a licence to fight in Nevada...for now. Wanderlei has been called in for an inquiry about his avoiding a drug test but if wandy isnt assigned to compete anytime soon he may be able to duck the NSAC as well.
I've got a hunch that Chaels retirement might be temporary. He got himself off the NSAC crosshairs and may unretire once he figures out how to circumvent the system. I wouldn't bet on it but I wouldnt be surprised to see him return by the end of the year or maybe next year if the price and opponent is right. Anderson is scheduled to return in 2015. He would need a tuneup fight. A tuneup fight with selling power. Chaels that guy.
