If Goldberg and Rock came into wrestling 5 yrs earlier or 5 yrs later to the Monday Night battles....would they be where they got?

I believe Rock would have have struggled some coming in earlier. The Rocky Maivia character floundered during the period that bridged the "New Generation" and "Attitude Era." The evolution of his character into the bad-ass Rock is what saved him, and that would not have been possible without the A.E. I honestly don't think he could have held out much longer than he did.
