Kerry Katona's fiance has blamed his shock public meltdown on a mixture of steriods, booze and sleeping pills.
Former Rugby League star George Kay was speaking for the first time since he detained under the Mental Health Act following a bizarre rant outside the couple's £3,500 a month rented mansion in Oxfordshire.
The 34-year-old told The Sun on Sunday: "I wasn't sleeping, so I was taking sleeping pills and I'd been drinking and taking steriods.
"I'd been up for the best part of four days.
"With the mixture of those things I think something had to give and unfortunately we had the incident that we had."
Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry was last night reunited with George and promised her husband-to-be: "I will help you win this fight."
The pair, due to get married next month, are expected to postpone their wedding to give George time to focus on getting well.
A close friend said: "Kerry knows how hard it will be for George.
"But she has reassured him she will be with him every step of the way."
Kerry's words of support come three days after George was detained.
Police were called after George displayed bizarre behaviour, reportedly ranting in the street: "Kerry, Kerry, they're going to f****** kill me!" and, "Call me a f****** ambulance!!"
He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital where police had him examined by doctors.
He was discharged on Friday.
George initially went back to the couple's five-bedroom house but today travelled to the North West where Kerry has been staying with relatives.

I would imagine she gets benefits to pay her rent.

Iceland used to have a slogan "Mums are heroes", always annoyed me, mums are heroines not heroes.

She's renting cos she can't get a mortgage I'm sure she's not discharged bankrupt yet. But to afford 3.5k plus other expenses she must earning a packet....probably not setting anything aside for tax again.
So on topic, we have an unstable ex-criminal who taking a bucket load of steroids and class a's on top with a relationship to a famously ex drug addict Bipolar woman.....hmmm what could go wrong.
