Title: Modafinil
Post by: Lustral on August 25, 2014, 04:28:16 PM
Thinking of doing a course soon so got some modafinil as haven't sat and studied in a while. I used modafinil in uni when I did 14 hours+ study a day. Problem is I took it at 8.30pm (now 12.26am here). Fucking mind is moving a mild a minute forgot how strong it is.

I've had three bottles of wine in past two hours yet find myself reading up on random shit rather than playing poker or posting in shit threads here. Long night ahead I suspect.

It is basically focus and concentration in a pill, no high, no jitters. Normally after three bottles I am respelling each word 7 times before I post it to keep up appearances.

In all honestly bro the grammatical structure of your sentences has been top notch here lately as far as I can recall.

@BigRo he has actually changed. Seriously, he quit facebook to read books. It pisses me off he was never prescribed it. I went to doc to get it on legit prescription and they asked what it was  ::) You can't prescribe what you don't know.

I am the Hitler of grammar Nazis, thing is when I'm pissed I spend 5 mins deleting words to spell them right  ;D I would pass out before I misspell a word.

worse idea ever

you will never come off

the culture of taking drugs to enhance your existence is built on a false premise

your body will eventually normalise how you feel on the drug

and you will therefore feel like shit when you come off

so you cant sleep on it

what do you do take another drug to help you sleep

you can see where this is leading

the americans I know take a cocktail of shit just to normalise themselves

I used it over the summer during exam period at uni, its like a 'clean' version of caffeine - no jitters or crash and I could sleep at the end of a long day.

Absolutely the best ever! Modafinil/adrafinil works great. I've just finished my phd while working full time and still managed to train, play soccer and spend time with the kids/wife and frankly, I wouldn't have dreamed about that prior to modafinil. I was always sleepy or napping.

I like adrafinil better because it's legal, less expensive and the liver toxicity side-effect is way overhyped. I've had many blood tests and my liver enzymes were great... It has also mood enhancing propreties not shared by modafinil/armodafinil.

Hydrafinil works even better. It's on ceretropic.

All hail hydra!

I've used it off and on for years to enhance my work capacity.  I work in engineering and it helps me focus on complex problems.  It's not bad if you take it in moderate doses and i never take it more than 3 days in a row.  It has a 15 hour half-life or something in that range.  You will have plenty of energy and be focused on everything.  The only problem i have with it is that it increases anxiety just like any other stimulant.

It's not like adderall, it's more mild and not very toxic when used correctly.  It will cause sleeping issues for sure.  On the days i take it, i take it at 6am so it wears off by the time I'm ready for bed.  It's also great for athletic performance, you will get great workouts on the days you take it with tons of energy.  I don't drink any coffee the days i use it.

I never remember feeling dependent on it, but you will get burnt out on it if you take too much for too long.  You will start to get headaches after a few days.  The longest i took it was for about two weeks at a low dose, after 2 weeks my brain was worn out and i constantly felt fatigued.  After a few days off from it i felt fine.

I don't normally recommend drugs to people, but this one can really help you work/study long hours without a problem.  It won't show up in a drug test, but it's considered a PED by the IOC.  It will definitely give you an edge mentally and physically.  Sometimes I'll use it when i go pheasant hunting up north, it makes your reaction time and coordination quicker IME.

I've never heard of anyone having problems with it other than anxiety and not being able to sleep.  The last time i used it was last year to get through some 16 hour work days.  I might use it 20 times a year, if that.

Lot's of good feedback, some had appetite reductions from constant use, but general feedback was a nice clear lift of energy while not feeling cracked out.

I honestly just told my dr. I was tired a lot. Told her I have been working a ton of hours etc etc.

She said I had shift work sleep disorder.

I got told to take 1 100mg pill a day.

Heard that hydrafinil is not really a "finil". How does it differ from modafinil if at all as far as how it feels? Nuvigil is awesome never had a sleep issue. Take a day or two off every few days and your good to go with no adaptation. I like adrafinil too.

No, hydrafinil is a fluorenone. It has less DAT affinity so you notice it less and it doesn't play with dopamine at all. So you don't really feel anything, not hyper nor anything. You just don't feel tired... Some people react well to it, some people find no effects at all.

They're working on finding the next generation of modafinil. Modafiendz is the most likely candidate.

I found a good supplier of armodafinil so I'm gonna stick with that for now :-)

I found modafinil to be extremely underwhelming, regardless of dosage.  No more effective than a little caffeine for me, and I often was able to fall asleep just a couple hours after taking it.  Disappointing after doing the research and hearing all the positive reports.

I have Modafinil prescribed for obstructive sleep apnea and narcolepsy.  This drug is a life changer for me.  I take one 200 mg tablet every morning, and I'm wide awake all day even while using Serostim. No foggy head, everything is clear, and no high or crash like you get with adderall.  Great for concentration as well.  RX Modafinil is far better than any of the generic stuff from overseas.  They're not even close.  Walgreens usually gives me the Modafinil made by Mylan, but this last script was the brand name Provigil made by Cephalon.  They're equally effective, and work the same.  No sides, it has no effect on appetite either.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but that list of 'side effects' will be found on nearly all medication. It is the 'catch all' list of possible sides for a very small number of patients who take it, the reason being that it directs them to seek medical assistance/advice and to stop the taking the medication.

Even childrens acetominophen (paracetamol) liquid in the U.K. will have the same list of possible sides.

You will get used to it after a while.  It does decrease hunger a bit, but it never made me skip a meal.

100mg is a good dose, i use 50mg and it hits me hard, but i'm very sensitive to stimulants.
