I have never seen anyone buy a Body Building mag at the store. They must sneak around to buy it. lol I would too probably out of embarrassment like I'm buying a porn mag or something; because people would think it's like a gay mag or something.
You see... I haven't bought a mag. since 1999, MMI. Back then, MMI was awesome! And there were the hottest girls of the day on the cover. Girls like Trish Stratus And Amy Fahdali sp? People thought I was buy a porn lol and straight at that. Those girls on the cover did sell a lot of mags.
And it was worth it! MMI had good articles back in those days. Just had to know not to fall for the adds. 8876788.78885% more effective lol

I agree....I do miss those days when I would run out to buy the new mags every month....and yes MMI was my favorite....they did have the best girls....but that was when I was naive enough to believe that all the BB'ers were natural or just used a little bit of test as "the finishing touch"...and you're right...I too have never seen anyone buy a bodybuilding mag....I never thought that people thought I was gay when I was buying them but now that you mention it, maybe some people did and I wasn't aware :D

I still have all my old Flex and MM magazines at my parents' house. I think I have every magazine from 1993 to 1997-1998. When Dorian retired, so did I from the bodybuilding 'scene'. When I'm back visiting home I usually dig them out and go through some of the old articles again. Some I still remember word for word.
-
only 1,023? ;D

I think we all went through an age of innocence with Bodybuilding.....I really loved the bodybuilders back then and their personalities....unlike the guys today who seem really blah and vanilla....

Yep... Ignorance is bliss!!! We were smart but naive. Think of how happy you were back then without even realizing it at the time. ;D It was the lack of knowledge and not knowing certain things that made us happy in our bodybuilding Universe. Totally oblivious to the out side world.

Agreed...I remember that warm feeling inside when I read a muscletech ad and discovered that Nitro-Tech and Cell-Tech would make me look exactly like Lee Priest. Went out and bought both with really high hopes.....what a letdown.......thought I wasn't working hard enough in the gym and blamed myself ;D ;D ;D
-
Yeah it was always about "working harder" lol And thinking that if you "worked harder" you would get the results. lol
