Title: Are you loyal to your home state/province/county.
Post by: MikMaq on December 30, 2014, 03:01:11 PM
Apparently the economic future of Newfoundland and Labrador has gone from ridding the oil boom back to piss poor thinks to the Arabs.

Anyhows I guess I'll be leaving here sooner than expected.

So I ask are you loyal to your home province/state.

I left Newfoundland last year just as the PC's fell apart. I miss aspects of the province and still have a lot of pride when speaking about it to people on the prairies but the oil boom or lack thereof is really going to hurt.

Patriotism seems foreign outside the U.S.

Wait, that seems redundant, but am I wrong? Are Americans (wrongly or rightly) the only ones who love their hometeam? Nationalism is just so out of favor these days, no?

Yes, but it is then a trick thread, unless it's aimed at Euros, etc.

America, YES! Fuck yeah. But only the history, geography, and contributing patriots. Fuck our future, though. We're changing drastically - as the rabbit fucks - and we're going down fast.

Not being fat and ugly would help your job prospects massively.
When I was self employed I never ever hired anyone fat, ugly I could accept but fat, no fucking chance.

Do you really think there are any similarities between Texas and Newfoundland?

Other than people from both think you're a retard.

Have you spoken to much of the native population there?

If you did you would quickly retract your answer.

No I wouldnt. You are very representative of the typical Newfie. Fat, retarded, lazy, bigoted, unemployed, with zero social skills or personal hygiene

Ok, no then. I'm in CA, which is beyond beautiful - not the big cities, mind you. But fuck the politics and people (for the most part). If 'As we do, the nation follows' has any truth to it, this country is so fucked.

Houston, and I used to be an electrical engineer specializing in telecommunications. I worked some in the oil patch.
