I always liked heel Demolition, as well.

Of course, everyone knows I'm a huge mark for the British Bulldogs!

Thanks man....I remember when they beat the rock n roll express for the NWA titles back in '86. Which I loved because I couldn't stand the Express.

There was a unique 'it' factor about Manny and Rude. Seemed like an unlikely pairing but their styles complemented each other nicely. They came off looking like two bad asses in the ring.

I'm a huge mark for Rick Rude. Nobody fucked with Rude backstage. A former Minnesota arm wrestling champion and a legit tough guy. I would always hope that Rude gave the Ultimate Warrior a shot in the face behind the curtain because he was working so stiff in their matches together.

There's a story that, during one of their matches, Rude took Hellwig to the mat in a headlock and whispered, "If you potato me one more time, I'm gonna shove your head up your ass!"

Andre did something similar to Warrior.

Good! Glad to hear that! Warrior was a complete douche.

Met Rude once at BWI airport about 20 years ago when he was in WCW. He was facing Ron Simmons for the world title in Baltimore. It was a house show and let me tell you...Rude was a mean son of a bitch! I remember after he picked up Simmons and slammed him on the mat, Rude started spitting on Simmons. I'm talking huge gops of spit and was spraying Simmons all over...lol.....He ended up losing but whatever. Met him later at the airport bar and he didn't break character, which was funny. He still shook my hand. Pretty cool. Shame he passed away at such a young age. His demons must have got the better of him.

Yep!
Rude was one of the legit bad-asses in wrestling. We had a thread on here a while back discussing such men. If I have time later, I'll find it and post the link here. I think you'll like it!

I remember one of his (many) botched promos in which he yelled out, "I'm the greatest tag-team of all time!" ;D

Steiner is the man. I get a kick out of his promos on YouTube. He's like a lovable psycho.

I thought Don Muraco and Cowboy Bob Orton made a good tag team in the late WWF late 80's. Muraco's finishing move piledriver was nasty.

Strike Force? Tito Santana and Rick Martel? Hart Foundation put them over for the belts.

i momentarily considered Strike Force but they werent what you would call a marquee partnership for the ages. Also considered the Foundation & Power & Glory  - they could have been incredible with the right booking IMO.

You can thank "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan for that one. More than a few sources claim that he came up with the concept. Hulkster & Blair were both trained by Matsuda and came into the business around the same time.
