This story about Ferrigno's graduation as an LA County Sherrif's Deputy makes two claims that seem erroneous. (see http://www.canyon-news.com/artman/publish/article_4106.php (http://www.canyon-news.com/artman/publish/article_4106.php)) I am almost certain Lou never won the Masters Olympia and am surprised to hear that no one other than Ferrigno has ever won the Mr. Universe title 2 years in a row. Can anyone verify these claims or has the press screwed up once again?
Claim 1 - "Beginning at age twelve, Ferrigno threw himself into a single-minded regime that brought him, within nine years, to a Mr. Universe title – the youngest in the sport’s history. He followed it up with another win the next year – a consecutive title record that remains to this day."
Claim 2 - "...in a further documentary about his comeback to bodybuilding, after a seventeen year retirement, in 1994, when he won the Masters Olympia title."
-
"Robinson made a comeback by entering the 1994 Masters Olympia competition. In the 1994 Masters Olympia, Robby placed first, and was the first to receive the coveted Masters Olympia crown. Most astonishingly, Robinson defeated such bodybuilding legends as Lou Ferrigno, and 1982 Mr. Olympia Chris Dickerson"

I'm pretty sure that Lou was 2 time Mr Universe, as even Arnold stated it in Pumping Iron (during the infamous breakfast scene with Lou and his parents in Africa).

Lou won the IFBB Universe in 1973 and 1974. The best he did at the NABBA Universe is 2nd in 1972.
