Title: Recently started reg workouts
Post by: Howard on January 31, 2015, 02:43:09 PM
I'm actually working out
I do a single body part followed by 20-30 min of cardio , .
For example, today I went to my small , close gym and did arms 12 sets each bis/tris, then 25min incline treadmill.

Make a thread and I will hold you to it.  What better motivation is it then to have all of us betting against you and supporting you the same time?  :D

This is a thread.

Can you explain your routine before compared to now?  What bodyparts, exercises etc...  I am going to start doing 2 a days, which would mean hitting a bodypart twice in a week.  Not sure if I want to do compound moves one workout then isolation on another

1980's , 4 days week Mentzer heavy Duty high intensity /pre-exhaust  Mon and Thurs ( chest, tris legs)
Tues and fri ( back, bi's delts, abs)

1990's same routines but ran  or stair climber 30 min hard and did a body part once per week similar to Yates routines.

I've changed a lot with age. To me, that stuff is ONLY entertaining and funny.
I'm 100% down with cardio and wt loss now.  BUT, I have no burning desire to beat anyone in a contest ...go figure

I like to change my cardio workouts regularly. break it up, 15-20 mins on say Crosser,bike...finish off with rowing. Crosser is a great workout and as you know more joint friendly. mixing your cardio workouts up also prevents injuries from doing one type of cardio all the time like say running. still like to get a good sweat on during cardio.
