Chris Evans (no, not that Chris Evans) replaces Jeremy Clarkson in Auntie’s Top Gear.

James May and Richard Hammond are out too.  Open auditions for replacements…Do you think they would go for a Yank?

It will be heavily judged against the old version....the guys have big shoes to fill. Unless they pull a hat trick to make it interesting this could spell the end of top gear and it become just another car show.

“Top Gear” is a confluence of the talents of  Executive Producer Andy Wilman and on air talents Clarkson, Hammond, and Mays.

If you want to have a show with the same feeling at another production house, you need all four, with maybe some of the writers hired away as well.

Hmmmmm….Clarkson, Hammond, Mays, and Wilman all are no longer with Top Gear.

I see ITV, Sky and Ch4 have all shut the door on Clarkson too.

Is that from solidarity with the BBC, the fact he is an absolute whopper - or the fact he punched a co-worker and was fired from his last job ?

Or Clarkson angered one or more persons unknown to the public in positions of power in the British Broadcasting Company.

One of the possibilities is that a production company not attached to a broadcasting outlet is being created to produce and market a car show.

Exactly.

Half of the reason I watched the show, is it felt like an escape from the BBC's relentless gay/race/gender promotion.

getting sick of hearing about these cunts and their fucking telly programme. the only things about tg were the specials and the siarpc part of the show. the rest was the same scripted, unfunny shite week after week. i liked clarkson, but fucking hell!!

Jeremy Clarkson is under a two year non-compete in Britain against doing an automobile oriented show for another broadcaster.
Is it the same with Mays and Hammond?
This certainly makes it more complicated.

Most broadcasting non-competes in the States are only six months.

I read today that they've found a loophole...

Good points.
Political Correctness will reign.
Must have a female  must have a minority.... Jeez.
It's going to be very tough to be 50% of what it was.

Can only hope clarkson , may, hammond plus the producer
Who left go somewhere else.
