After that first cruise experience, I lost the desire to give much back to bodybuilding.
I still work out and try to eat well, but never had the lasting fire to make bodybuilding a priority
-
I actually can relate. I realized it was a waste of time, effort, and money. Just like what you mentioned about doing something enjoyable and fun. Also looking at what happened to people 10 years down the road, many look like they had never touched a weight and so it seemed pointless.

Maybe some of you can relate? ;)
You think there's another poster here who went on a cruise and decided to stop bodybuilding because of it?
-
Just going to the beach is enough. I bust my ass in the gym, diet hard, get in great shape, go to the beach and its 99% fat asses who don't give a fuck how they look having fun, drinking, enjoying life and you think, why the fuck am I killing myself to look good when no one else does?
-
I would love to get on a boat with a bunch of fat ass civilians while coming off a show (presumably NOT looking like Goodrum). Your woman would be enjoying the envious looks from all the other women with their blubbery husbands and you would be the recipient of much evening lust.
My wife loves it when I look better than everybody else. She claims that she's "uncomfortable" when her girlfriends proclaim me a "DILF", but she sure does bring it up a lot when we are starting sexy time and she's pawing my pecs.
-
Just to be clear, when you say cruise are you talking about low dose test, tren or an actual ship?

Bill Pearls Book Getting Stronger has a very good passage about this. Page 52. I can´t be arsed to write it all but it does put it into perspective. There is Humor and seriousness in Howard´s post.

Going for the health look while having a normal career and social life has the best cost-benefit ratio.
LMAO @ Taking vacation time for a bodybuilding contest.

I know what Howard means and I can relate to his story. Maybe not a cruise but the enjoyment of life and relationships. Many people use competitive bodybuilding as an escape from reality and so they become martyrs for the cause. It's really very sad. It's much better to eat well, lift weights, be active, and enjoy life. it's amazing how many people don't even do that

Cruises are disgusting. (Unless it is a top notch Cruise liner)
The food, disgusting.
The drinks, weak and overpriced.
The people, FAT and RUDE.
The workers, stink.
The rooms, cramped.
Found it cheaper to fly direct to Cozumel, Mexico to an all-inclusive resort for 7 days.

You must have went on a shitty cruise.
I went on Disney at the food was fantastic.

The guys that spend all their money on drugs, syringes, and vacation to go to contests are insane. Many can't even pursue a career because all of their time is directed toward their cosmetic drug muscles that makes them feel like a man. I personally train hard and never do I mention the bodybuilding word. I just run and lift for fitness and health.
I train on vacation but it's something like 3x in the weight room for the week and a short run every day.

Yes, it was shitty Carnival. Girlfriend and I went when we were 19.

:D Or walking back and forth in front of a gay bar wearing a muscle t-shirt and skinny jeans.

Bodybuilding for me is about health, looking better, feeling better, and increasing my chances of getting a more attractive girlfriend / having better sex.
Taking part in contests is for idiots

This.
It takes very little effort actually and minimal cash.

Minimal cash you say? I spend upwards of $400 per month alone on pre and post workout beverages and have a special BCAA fund I tap into on holidays and that's just for now. Once I hit 275 on the bench, I'm gonna double my supplementation!

Good for you. I was obsessed with the whole bodybuilding thing for about 3 years when I was 19. It's not healthy at all and contrary to what the delusional people here will say, the general public laughs at you when you are walking around in public with your skin tight tshirt on.
Seeing it from the inside ruined it for me too. Many of these people are delusional and have no concept of reality. Bodybuilding is its own niche crazy cult and if you don't have people who are telling you there is more to life and plug you into reality, you're headed for a pretty big downfall. . Outside of bodybuilding nobody cares who you are and whole many of these people think they're real life celebrities when outside nobody cares.
The people that don't see their lives implode after their bodybuilding career fades are the people that have a better concept of reality and living in the real world. Some of these people put out videos and I think aren't you embarrassed! This is pathetic!
If I were an Ifbb pro I would be using bodybuilding as the springboard to launch something outside

Haha! When I am contemplating divorce I will post pics to "speed up" the process. Until then, not a chance.
