Title: Sting Injured
Post by: Thin Lizzy on September 21, 2015, 01:45:08 PM
Apparently, he suffered a "significant" neck injury during the Rollins match.

This was bound to happen. You can't put a 56 year old man in a high level athletic exhibition with an opponent in his prime.

If the injury is severe, you have to wonder if they're going to go through with the next PPV which features another 50+ year old man in a Steel Cage Match.

It's funny how fans have to suspend disbelief:

Sledgehammer or steel steps  to head:  Match keeps going.

Thrown into turnbuckle:  Refs keep Rollins away.

I believe it was Austin whom I heard say that when wrestlers get hurt, for real, it's usually doing something very minor, like a leapfrog and landing in a way that tweaks a knee.

Hunter tore his quad simply planting his foot on a worked forearm blow.

Wasn't that the one where Angle was making fun of him "I tear my quad all the time..in fact, I tore both this morning, and I'm here tonight, walking around"?   ;D

Nash tore his just running into the ring.

And, Vince tore his during a slide into the ring.

I think it was during a tag match. Nash was just running over to clock the guy on the apron and collapsed.

During the Sting Rollins match I couldn't tell if the injury was a work or a shoot. I thought maybe it was a work to sell the crashing through the Spanish announce table, guess not.

And it put him on the shelf for 9 months. Crazy shit.

Sting hit his upper back/neck awkwardly in the "turnbuckle power bomb" spot. You could tell that he was off for the remainder of the match but props to him. He finished the bout and he's 56 years old.

And, Vince tore his during a slide into the ring.

In fairness, Vince banged the hell out of his quad on the edge of the ring apron when he slid in.  It was the impact that caused his to tear.

Didn't he tear both quads? He was wheel chair bound for a good 4 months.

Sting deserves more credit than he often gets.

Funny you should mention that, that's how I felt about Bishoff.

Its not a break, just a bad sprain. He is home resting. They are contemplating whether or not to use him in the ring now again due to his age and the scare of the injury.

Latest is that Sting is having fusion surgery.

That sucks for a guy that age.

Yup, read that too. Soo now WM will not have Sting, Orton, Rollins, possibly Cesaro. Are their anymore? Not that it matters, it will be a shit card.

I can't remember a WWE roster being this depleted. You can make a case that there isn't a single true main eventer currently active.

Bullseye.

And with the Rock making a movie, Austin and Jericho flat out refusing to do WM,  who is left? HHH? And please don't say the ever aging balding Undertaker.

Ya I read that the first buckle bomb tweaked his neck but it was the second one that really hurt him. There is litterally going to be know one to watch at this years WM.

Sting is old and finished and his shape sucks.

Does he even have any impressive moves?

Time to let go of that "crow" character, was kinda cool for a while but the gimmick is well beyond over now...

Cut him some slack, the guy is 56 years old. He has absolutely nothing to prove.
