And, an absentee one at that...
Where've you been?
I've had my RVT credentials for almost a year, so it's been at least that long since we've communicated.
How's everything been, friend?

Thx...
Spent 4 hours seated right near Patera in the NJ Marriott bar, 2 years ago w/ Patera & Wilhelm (and Bruce's wife), enjoying cocktails and hearing lots of great stories.
(After the AOBS Strongman dinner).
One of my Iron Game and Wrestling hero's from way back... Great guy, and very funny...

Nice, Patera was always what I considered one of the "freaks of nature" in pro wrestling due to his crazy strength. WWE only paid him 90,000 per year when he wrestled for them in 1987-1988. He finally got fed up at a house show in Boston when he was told to lay down for the Red Rooster. I don't blame him.

According to Patera himself in an RF shoot interview he did, he wasn't making much more in WWE than he made in the AWA.

Exactly, he got fed up and basically quit. Things were a lot different back then in the sense that guys had to pay for their hotel, flight, rent-a-car and food expenses and once all that was said and done, there wasn't much left to send back home to pay the bills.

NOT TO RANT , that's ,about last 10-20 or so yrs in regards to the 'product'but to be nostalgic the older schooled wrestlers seemed to really get into there character, being devious, believable'lol to an extent to an 11/13 yr old'but for the money they really got the crowd going knew how to 'work' the tide of the match and right to the ending fighting out of the ring and into the back curtain,,those days are gone sadly...

Decades ago, some guys would wrap their ears in a damp, hot towel for a few minutes and them pinch them with pliers. This created the "look" of cauliflower ears.
