Bernies whole point is that it should not take any loans to go to Public Universities, you moron.

The same way you don't pay tuition to go to k-12 schooling at Public Schools, you moron.

yes so you're devaluing the worth of public education by doing that...he's essentially making more and more requirements for less and less...this is going to cause better colleges prices to skyrocket and the job outcome for public college kids is going to be worse even though it's not great to begin with...not everybody that CAN go to college goes because it's too expensive..there is a prestige to a degree..now that's completely eliminated...plus it's a source of income for the USA in general..so more people, same amount of jobs or slightly more (still not enough to compensate for millions of new students) = worse job outlook..= higher demand for better college = more expensive and only affordable by the 1% who needs it LEAST..terrible way to circulate the wealth back into the middle class..it's the exact opposite

Thats just it, education should not be about who has the money to pay for it.

Its a source of income for the Government to give out the loans.  Bernie wants to reel that in.  Interesting that you want more government loan programs and you want them to dictate the terms and price.  Republicans, lolol....They love the government.

It would be nice if someone came up with a means to go to a college that depended on the hard work or merit of the student's performance prior to college.   A fund could be set up that required them to maintain a certain GPA, otherwise they would lose said privilege.  Oh wait, they have that.  It's called an academic scholarship.

I would say that is a matter of opinion, as I think any free tuition is a plus for the student.  However, it further miffs me as to why you suggest we need free college when you just said there are plenty of avenues to receive scholarships.  Even in your own words, you said you can receive them for stupid reasons.

Not near enough to wear everyone can get a scholarship.

K-12 is paid for, why not just extend it 4 more years?

If we could use money that is currently wasted in early education through waste etc to fund a program that paid for a few years of college studying in demand education I would be for that. Im not for paying for people to go to school to study russian history or some other obscure degree.

The problem is that bernie and the rest dont seem to want to cut spending to pay for it, taxing people only goes so far. Entitlements already make up the majority of our budget, far more than military spending but if they are willing to cut spending where does it come from?...the military ::)

Plenty of those kids barely scrape by as is.  In your fantasy world all people are exactly the same, and given the same oppurtunity, they will excel at the same rate.  Here in the real world, some people are stupid due to an inferior breeding pair passing their inferior genetics to their child.  Some people aren't meant for college and some don't even have desire to go.  There is plenty free money out there as is that isn't taken advantage of.  These people don't want to go to college

Offering free college is a waste.  In most cases, that child's academic worth has been well established by the end of high school......and he received a scholarship

I think pretty much everyone is stupid to be honest with you which is why they need as much help as possible.

While I'm not that cynical, plenty of the population is stupid.  They also have a genetic limit.  That can't be surpassed via 4 more years of book learning and education.   Best they get in the real world and find whatever physical niche they are destined to end up in for the rest of their life.

Thats stupid.  You shouldn't be doomed or destined or limited in any way.  There should not be a price tag of entry to a college degree.  Extend K-12 to K-16 at least.

Cruz.  He will balance the budget and i posted a link to his plan yesterday.  He's got a common sense approach and he has shown he will crash shit (govt shutdown) before he'll let another obnoxious budget get thru.

I think nobody else in the race has the right plan, and the proven balls to do it.

Which is yours, and why?   Also, coach, please answer.

I always assumed you were more intelligent than this.  What do you think they will pay the teachers with, fiance the school,  utilities, books, housing etc.  They don't pay with pixie dust.

You aren't doomed and destined.  You perform well in school and you get financial assistance. It's that simple.  If you weren't a dumbass in high school, you would have a paid for education

If they put money into moving people toward their best chance for a good outcome, and it worked, it would be the best investment we could ever make. The businesses that keep claiming no one is qualified (except Indians), will be forced to put up or shut up.

And what about assigning someone to run a REAL business-development office?  Results vs. cost for everyone to see and give input toward.  Rebuild industry with our trading partners, and shut everyone else out (trash "nations" that are holding the world back -- this would send the message that we don't approve of their governments)

People who are currently wealthy by taking advantage of the world's misery would be FURIOUS about it.  That's good.  Everyone else (and I mean EVERYONE else) would benefit.
