Title: How many times have people recognized you lift weights in clothes?
Post by: Method101 on January 12, 2016, 05:01:21 PM
A lot of people in work have commented on my arms, I normally wear size L slim fitting shirts which partially expose my upper arm and my arms fit tightly into them. I've had guys ask me how much I curl to get arms like that, I have had women ask me to flex for them and one even asked to feel my bicep, she went all red and looked like she was melting after touching it. Every woman I have ever dated since turning 20 has commented on my physique before I even mentioned that I trained.

The funny part of this is that my arms are only 2 inches bigger now than they were in the green shirt picture, shows how fucking stupid getbig standards can be and that you don't need drugs or bodybuilder levels of muscle to be very impressive to the average person. It's also kind of sad that I only gained 2 inches in 7 years but oh well I've been inconsistent at times, but for the last year and a half I've been training solidly and I'm at my best now ;D

INB4 someone posts the green t-shirt picture. How many times have people recognized you lift weights in clothes?

A simple solution to the green tshirt pic would be to post a current one, no?

An increase of 2 inches (5 cm) is nothing to sneeze at.

Of course people will notice a difference.

They usually can tell I'm fit.

I usually wear loose fitting stuff but there are times I have to dress up and people can tell. It's no bid deal, though. I'm definitely not huge or impressive.

After reviewing the photo maybe you should consider that they're making these comments sarcasticly,  making fun of the idea that you would be working out for such a poor set of arms....  ???

Adding 2 inches isn't helping anything bro.

the difference is torso thickness.   upper back, chest, shoulders....  a lot of dudes train arms, but overall body thickness ain't something you can fake, and isn't something you can put together in a few months of lifting.  You can add size to your arms screwing around with dumbbells a few nights a week... you can't have a visibly thick back and wide shoulders, you can't have a thick upper chest, without attending the gym 4 days a week for years.

Actually it's gone from 15" to 17"

If I reach 18" that will be my absolute limit because gains come slow as hell now in terms of arm circumference.

No way those arms are even 15" in that pic, mate. And if they're at 17" now then they would look absolutely fucking massive on your build.

Method101's posts read like they were written by a guy who's never seen a pair of tits in his life.
And those arms don't look 15 inches. Take it from a guy who's 6'2ft as well.

dear OP,

I know that you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment by all the compliments you are currently receiving about your sculpted marble physique, but always remember: “God will never give you more than you can handle.”

But if you feel that this piece of advice isn't good enough, there is always this:

I'm 6ft.2 bro...

Coming from someone an inch taller than you and with a similar lanky build, the arm in the green shirt pic is 13.5 inches if you are lucky; and I mean very, very lucky.

Two inches on top of that would look decent, but everyone lies about arm size anyway so "public opinion" is that 15 inch arms suck. In BB terms its nothing even close to special but normal people might notice.

I worked legs on MON at Jan peak hrs ( 5-6 pm) and had no problems getting on any equipment.

The arm and chest equipment was as busy as a $2 whore next to a Navy ship in port.

Bull shit! Why do you lie when it's right there in front of us? Those are much closer to 12 inches. We had this exact same argument years ago when you first posted that pic claiming it was 15 inches and I posted a pic of my arm at a legit 15 inches. I'm just shy of 6'2" and this picture shows my arms at just barely over 15 inches and it blows yours away.

It cracks me up when people lie about their pics when it's right in front of everybody's eyes.

Happens here and there.  I usually get "I wouldn't wanna mess with you" or "you could play for the Cowboys" or "did you play football in college".

Older I get the less people care about that stuff.  Most people are more concerned with where you work, what you do, how much you make, how long you've been married, how many kids you have, where you went to school and what you can potentially do for them.

People that want to get their bodies noticed tend to talk it up a bit on their own to get people going.

"I'm doin P90X".  "I'm doin a Tough Mudder".  "I train at Gold's."  "Started my half marathon training last week."

Most folks are oblivious to such things.

For the majority, if you have only 12" arms, but have slight definition around the biceps you're "huge".

Only one time, and then I was wearing a "smedium" sized T-shirt!

I was training for a contest a few years ago and doing Giant-Sets.....I drew a small crowd of stunned onlookers and one guy called me a beast.

I quickly gave him one of my patented headbutts followed by a quick front snap kick to the throat region and told his semi-concious ass to never speak to me when I`m training.

Not all, but most.  Some permabulkers in certain clothes can look impressive (subjective I know), but strip off the shirt and the 165lb cut dude looks waaaaaay better.

For the vast majority of folks, any person with any definition whatsoever regardless of actual size and weight translates into "huge, hyper-muscular athlete".

Not always.

No  career options as a jockey , 212 pro or Oompa Loompa .

I'd rather be a short with a long penis, then tall with a short gerkin.

Pretty much. A year of consistent training and some definition in your arms and and you will get the occasional admiring comment from the average non-lifter. Anyone with a decent amount of muscle will be regarded as being huge. A woman at work calls me "Mr Universe" and I'm a 190lb twink. :D

If Method101 is only getting these positive remarks now than it just goes to show how pathetic he must have looked before.

Not always.

No  career options as a jockey , 212 pro or Oompa Loompa .

I'd rather be a short with a long penis, then tall with a short gerkin.

You know what's awesome? Being 6'3" with 18" arms and a 9" dick.

I'd rather be a long penis (6'7") with arms and legs at the lower area (around the scrotum), than an omniscient gerbil/gerkin.

I love when guys go on gear/staying on gear and think having 15-16 inch arms is huge.

15-16 inch arms are only huge if you are under 5'2

This is a wonderful story

My arms were 13" when I started training for the first time, thanks for giving me an ego boost, it's a shame your still down in 15" territory after all these years bro.

Where the fuck are your triceps and biceps? You don't have anything on your 12 inch twigs.

At  just over 15 inches, I don't have big arms. I never said I did. I said you were lying when you said your arms are 15 inched (though now you've back pedaled and have gone down to 13 inches).

But whatever size is claimed, the fact of the matter is that though I don't have big arms, they are bigger and more developed than yours.

Method101 gets his pictures taken while facing the door? So he can show off his hair length? I've seen many women with way longer hair after a complete shave in a lot less time then 31 months.
