Think about Jay compared to Ronnie Coleman. Jay reportedly eats 10 times a day, many times the calories of Coleman. More calories seemingly than any other bodybuilder. Ronnie eats reportedly 4-6 times a day only, the same things every day. Not too many calories. I would certainly conclude that Jay has pretty bad genetics in that he does not process food efficiently. His whole day is spent consuming food.

Don't mistake the amount of meals with calories... it's also worth noting that Ronnie's DVD's don't always include every meal he eats, it's not like Ronnie barely eats anything, last I recall, he loves his grits and eggs.

I knew plenty of guys back in the day playing football for some big div one schools, and these athletes were getting huge and ripped eating 3x a day, mostly junk food. Whether Jay eats 5x or 10x a day has nothing to do with his genetics, and with the amount of gear he is pushing would be big on 3x a day feedings.

Diet is one of the biggest factors in building a good body. Not as big as genetics and ones bone/joint structure but diet is huge. Especially big for natural atheletes.

i think jay eats a lot healthier than coleman. i hear he eats a lot of sushi and avoids saturated fats, which would explain why he needs more meals to equal the same amount of calories. in the end, its simply gonna be the amount of muscle and energy expended that determines calorie requirements, so im guessing these guys are very close in calorie consumption with coleman probably slightly higher. they're both pretty much ideal mesomorphs so apart from muscle shape, genetically they're similar (in metabolism).

So why does Mits film the same four meals being eaten like 10 times each? Why not cover one complete day showing every meal?
My theory? He only does eat four meals a day. He might have a shake before bed when Mits isn't around, but that's about it.

i think cutler did 4 shows before he got pro status and two of those were teenage shows......so yeah they are the worst genetics i have ever heard of ::)

Don't understand the rationale for this topic. It's said that Larry Scott had poor genetics (narrow shoulders) yet he worked to overcome them. The same could be said about almost anyone.

Genetically he has a wide waist because he trains his obliques and packs a shitload of weight onto a short frame, though his shoulders are insanely wide. That detracts his effectiveness in certain poses because although his back is very wide, the V-taper isnt as nearly as effective as it could be. But 22" arms, 32" quads and a 57"+ chest can hardly be seen as BAD genetics

Compared to Ronnie? I would say most definitely. It appears he is twice as regimented as Ronnie and can't hold a candle to him. Jay is all business and Ronnie just training and eating for fun by the looks of it.

Definitely. Think about where his muscles insert. You can only do so much to overcome structural flaws like that. And I agree that King does work damn hard judging by his videos. But he will never be Mr. Olympia.

"in that he does not process food efficiently", [whatever that means] maybe. But think about this. To be as good as Jay is, Jay eats 10 times a day. You've got to have some discipline to eat this consistently/frequently/etc. Jay must have some damn good genetics, as far as being able to work very, very hard goes. And his genetics for being able to mentally handle dieting (whether that means eating 10 meals per day in the off-season, or dieting for a contest) are probably great.
Some people get it done because they have great genetics for physical aspects, but cant work hard; others get it done because they have great genetics to dig deep (mentally), but may not have great genetics regarding physical aspects.
Regardless, I'm sure Jay has his strengths and weaknesses, genetically, but overall, I wouldn't go as far as saying he has poor genetics.
Just an idea to consider.

When people say a pro has poor genetics, they usually mean poor compared to the best (e.g., Jay compared to Big Ron).
Actually, since the retirement of Flex Wheeler, Jay Cutler is the most genetically gifted of all pros, even more so than Ronnie-and Ronnie has superb genetics. It's just that Ronnie is a decade or so loder than Cutler, so he has a lot more muscle maturity and density; nothing more natural. Oh, by the way, I'm not a Cutler fan.

As some other guys have said, amount of meals and calorie intake are completely different. Lat article I read said Jay's meals were only 300 calories each.
Plus if he did consume a lot more calories than Ronnie then surely he's got an awesome metabolism, a great asset to any bodybuilder, genetically speeking.

LOL! I still workout in the women's locker room.........the men's room is too "hardcore" for me! I can't wait to try tricep pressdowns with the paper towel dispenser, I've been doing close-grip pushups in the shower as my primary mass builder.
