Title: Insane strength
Post by: siege on March 18, 2006, 03:17:58 PM
today I saw this guy do the 75's on Lateral Raises, I about shit my pants. He is by far the strongest person I've ever seen in person. Other lifts that I have been completely astonished by was his 750 or 780lbs BB Shrug, he bent the damn bar. He is so insane. I've seriously seen him grab the 90lbs db and concentrate curl it for 6.

Hes around 6'4 and 350, his b/f on the otherhand is probably around between 15-20. Either way though he is the biggest and strongest person I have ever seen in person in my entire life.

If he did 75's on laterals, I bet he had huge traps and medicore medial delts.

that could be true, but i dont see a reason why its more than likely.

How?
The only person I know of that could use the 75's for reps on laterals and be able to do the exercise properly is Ronald Dean Coleman. Being able to shrug 750 is also an indication that he is doing his laterals wrong.
That's how.
That's real.

"monster triceps" is just mad because he has to wear straps to shrug a 25 lb. plate on each side of the bar and superset it with lateral raises with the pink two pound dumbbells.

[/quoteplenty of professional BODYBUILDERS use 100 lb dumbells for lateral raises...

POWERLIFTERS can use alot more though.

I trained with Rory Leidelmeyer in the 80's and in the off season he used to do one arm lateral raises with 70 to 80 pound dumbells in very good form... No traps.

Form or function?

Who gives a shit if he uses is his delts to lift them. If he ends quite horizontal, his delts has to endorse a shitload of weight.
And it's almost impossible to do stretched lateral raises. Your weakest point is your elbow,
you have to bent your arms a little bit, which makes you use delts.

BTW, also doing raises with 62 and loving it.

The same story about the grip used with front-raise,
upperhand or neutral (and strongest).
