Title: Anyboy know someone who...
Post by: Croatch on March 19, 2006, 08:28:01 AM
Anyboy know someone who says they want to get in better shape, but not get "that" big.  I love these guys.  I translate that comment as someone who wants to put in mediocre effort with training and dieting.  Most people don't have the genetic make up to be "semi-jacked", yet they make it like they're this BEAST just waiting to break out of their skin, if they touch a weight.  The 12 year old boy look is coming back I heard, just don't lift at all.
BEAST!!!

That would be about 99 % of the guys in my gym. All of them weigh around a buck 80, have the Ipod on the arm band and do just about every f*ckin useless cable exercise like its going out of fashion. The most annoying thing about them is when they starting talking to each other (shaking their heads) after watching you lift and you just know they are saying something along the lines of 'I would look like that too, if I took steroids etc'. The only advice they want from you is 'Which brand of protien do u take or what do u think about creatine loading etc'. ::)

I'm always thinking to myself when I have a chat with any of those guys ' The reason you'll never be big is because u think it boils down to what brand of protein you take' :-\

Classic.  This could be a good thread.  Seems everyone knows a person like this.

i saw two fat jokers in the gym yesterday doing tricep pushdowns on the easy Flex machine stack, the one with two pulleys for literally an hour, i did 4 sets of barbell inclines, 3 sets of seated dumbell presses, 3 sets of lateral raises, 3 sets of close grip benches, 3 sets of overhead dumbbell extensions and 3 sets of pushdowns and these clowns were still doing pushdowns, hahahaha.

I hate those woman who don't train "too heavy" because they don't want to become big.

My favorite is when women make the "not that big" comment. As if getting big, is soooooo easy.  ::)

Actually, the 12 year old look is back. Look around, plenty of buck-ten metrosexuals walking around.......

No one's mom is a whore.

But back to the topic - when any skinny f*cker says with a panicked look on his face, 'I dont want to get big like Arnold or anything (when I suggest they try basic, compound movements like Deadlifts), I always say, ' Well that would be like every 2-bit computer nerd saying "I dont want to be rich like Bill Gates". I mean, its not like you are gonna get anywhere near Arnold's shape or size when you are about 5'7'' and 160 lbs soaking wet :-\

Maybe they were doing the 100 rep routine with super slow milos movements.

Thats any guy who ever picked up a weight and didn't have the balls to train hard enough to put on any size.

ROFL. Sarcasm - you are the Seinfeld of Bodybuilding / Weightlifting. Like David Letterman once said to Jerry Seinfeld, 'Anything and Everything becomes material in your hands' ;D Not kissing ur ass or anything, but your posts are by far the funniest ones and your lines are the most original in Getbig - pure Gold.

yes nobody has ever used the phrases "monster triceps" and "what a beast"
