Because he knew his physique wasnt competitive enough (his own words in MD). He took the year off to recover his body and make improvements.

Post by: MisterGX on March 24, 2006, 04:22:57 PM: Saw Capriese 2 weeks ago, and he looked good (weighing a very hard 235lbs.). He didn't compete in the Olympia last year because he never intended to. He was basically shot from doing 2 major shows in '04. The only reason he competed in the NY Pro was because he was asked to do so. He originally planned to do his first pro show this year. MD dropped him because he didn't do the Olympia. But if he does well at both shows (Colorado & NY), he will do the Olympia this time. Just have to wait and see.
