An incredibly popular show that might as well exist in an alternate reality for me. I'm always so surprised when I speak to someone who is a fan of this show because it happens so sporadically. I'm not saying this as some sort of tv snob because I was a pretty big fan of "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "The King of Queens", which are both middle brow shows.
-
Used to watch it. TV is for the greater part, mindless. Its okay to be mindless outside of this place sometimes. I just listen to Jazz and watch movies. No TV for me anymore.
Oh wait! Dammit! Was I supposed to refrain from addressing you? Don't you have some sort of a refraining order on me? Too late.

Pretty much one of the only current shows I watch. Not a weekly watched but more just reruns of whenever I can. I think the show was better when the guys were single, but now they all have wives or girlfriends so it just seems like it is less appealing. Like what's the point of the show now.
-
I watch it. I have seen most of them. The more normal Sheldon gets the less.funny.the show is.
-
It used to be good. Now it's just average.
-
never watched. cant stand CBS comedy.

King of Queens was decent. Carrie was banging, even when she got all fat and sloppy.
-
It was a good show and now it slowly canters towards the final season, a wheezing goliath that got too popular with the mainstream and lost its identity.
It is only worth watching in a binge session (and you can easily binge it because they have been reducing the length of it for a while now).
"If you’re still keeping up with The Big Bang Theory, which is currently midway through its ninth season on CBS, then you probably noticed something different about the most recent episode, “The Sales Call Sublimation.” As Reddit user specialkkurtis pointed out on the r/television forum, the episode was only 18 minutes and 34 seconds in length. Being that TBBT sits in a coveted half-hour slot on Thursday nights, this means that viewers were treated to a whopping 11 minutes and 26 seconds of commercials."

I watched it twice and wasn't feeling it. Super annoying. A bunch of unattractive geeks moping around and trying to sound intelligent.
I'm probably in the minority but I don't see the appeal of Kaley Cuoco or whatever her name is. She has a very dorky look also. To me she's only moderately more attractive than that big nosed frump that used to be Blossom.
It's basically a show for queers and shut-ins.

High five on that, my brother.

It's basically a show about young know-it-all nerds and if you work in engineering or tech, it's spot on. I had a co-worker who's an engineer say he loved Sheldon because he's so arrogant. This was funny to me because the guy reminded me a lot of Sheldon.

Moronic rubbish.
-
was good pretty shitty now, take a note when watching it how frequently the audience laughs , ever single joke or line is followed with laughs , it really makes the show unwatchable
-
A few years ago a friend extolled its hilarity and asked me to watch an episode with her.
Yeah, it's funny. But I'd never choose to watch it on my own steam.
Now Friends, that's one sitcom that is total ass. Every character bugs the piss out of me. Especially that mopey fuck with the droopy face, whatever his name is. Schwimmer, I think?
I'd say my all-time fave sitcoms are Happy Days (nostalgia), Family Ties (had a major crush on Mallory) and Seinfeld. Never particularly dug The Cosby Show.

Now that you mention it, none of the tech guys I know have ever mentioned this show to me.A few of the tech sector guys I know have been encouraging me to watch "Silicon Valley" for the reasons you mentioned. I checked out a few episodes this season. I don't love it, but it's more up my alley than "BBT". Are they programmers/ coders on the show?
-
Watched a few episodes but I couldn't stand it. The depiction of scientists is rubbish and personally I don't find it funny at all.
-
Silicon Valley is pretty funny and a good show.
Big Bang Theory....I gave it an honest shot a while ago and found that it rated 0/10 on the humor scale. My opinion, of course.
-
That show sucks. It's just whiny know-it-alls combined with Star Trek jokes. Generation nothingness TV

I love the show. Good fun. Watched two seasons on a flight to India. My wife hates it though
-
One of the least funny things I've ever seen.

as a waiter, I'm privy to overhearing a lot of conversations
A LOT of old people come to my restaurant and the only TV Shows they talk about are:
- The Good Wife
- NCIS
- Blue Bloods
Basically anything on CBS
they don't talk about Big Bang Theory much however I get a feeling that they (the old people) watch that too and they are the ones who give that show the majority of ratings

No, they all work at Cal Tech in the physics department.
Raj has a PhD in Astrophysics
Sheldon has a PhD in theoretical Physics
Howard has a Masters in Aerospace Engineering
Lenard has a PhD in theoretical Physics

This actually kind of explains some of the shows popularity to me. It seems like such a throwback in a lot of ways and the fact that the lead characters are physicists as opposed computer scientists/engineers sort of emphasizes how the show is meant to be ... relatable? I know the guy who created "BBT" also created the equally popular "2 and a half men". While I'm not a fan of the former, I downright hated the latter.

Yep, Sheldon always introduces Howard as Mr. as opposed to Doctor just slight Howard. :D

Yep, not funny in the least. Kind of like when the whole theater laughs when someone gets hit in the groin with a ball. I don't get it. Every joke you can see coming.

I saw an episode of that show once. A little middle aged man kept inviting high school boys to follow him into the bathroom to watch him comb his hair. It was really warped.

Legit
This.
Plus they all work at cal tech, and 40 yo. Yet, this still wear super heroes t shirts to work.
The show is really about the smartest guys in the world wasting their lives on fake fantasies.

I hated the show, would change the channel upon seeing it as it was popularised science and part of the "i fucking love science" movement of retards thinking "it isn't like that". When I watched an episode and didn't take it seriously, I enjoyed it. I agree that it lost its character as they got girlfriends; like removing the jeopardy from a movie/situation (them failing in social situations) and also, being American, knowing it will all have a happy ending.
