Not to be too technical but he used a piece of software that performs an exhaustive key search of all password combinations against his server until it finds the right one. Once he did that, he could simply access his cPanel and redirect the site. Ron was away at the NPC Titan so he was not around to notice it happening.
Its quite illegal and you can get a few years in prison even if you're in the UK...no different than Guccifer

I wasnt around - at a NPC/IFBB Contest the whole day until I came home last night, and talking to a friend who had a car accident, and now may need surgery.
Learning a little more each time things happen. Even the big sites it occurs, but they are faster at fixing it.
I am not a hacker, so sadly, you have people wanting to ruin things.
Sorta like the looters out there on a tough night. Instead of helping fix the problem, they just want to ruin the place they come too.

Yes, if we were collecting PERSONAL information. What personal info did you put here? An email address? As for not trying to get 'hacked', brute force password attacks makes it easier if the passwords people use are harder to figure out. As for reasonable steps, we always do. But aside from blocking new users all the time, with forums, you monitor and take care of the situation. Why there are less and less forums lately, not worth it, if you are selling things.
As for here, no selling, no profit, just fun. And when there is something off, click 'Report to Moderator' and we delete it if needed.
