Stan is just an all-around great guy.  I doubt he needed that $50,000, but probably just wanted the publicity.

He gave me one of my favourite interviews in 2013.  Specifically because he is intelligent and articulate.  Makes me miss the expo scene a little:

No Stan didn't need the 50K at all.....exactly as you said national publicity....a quick commercial that millions saw and remembered that cost him virtually nothing

Bingo . . . $50K is not a make or number for Stan, he uses a Black Amex ( need to spend $250,000 a year just to keep the account active.

Seems like a good dude.

The 50k also gives the Sharks equity and makes them vested in promotion etc....it's not just about the money.

That said, I don't think the product is all that.

He seemed like a nice guy. That product actually looks good for sports athletes. Especially those that practice outside. Good for football players and baseball players. Don't see it being needed in a gym. With Damon they'll market it towards the crossfit retards. Those morons will pay top dollar for anything labeled crossfit.

Apparently a lot of deals made on the show never pan out after they go through the details.
