It seems you're saying this quite often lately. Either you're developing early onset dementia, or there's a new gimmick popping up everyday. :-\
-
Drew rice ate 4000-8000 calories every day for a month, <5% fat most days, and didn't gain an ounce. Also this didn't really seem to be much of a departure from his ordinary diet...

Bunch of complete noobs or completely unfunny gimmicks or both. :(

Did you make this up or is it true

so someone burned off more calories than he ate or his digestive system couldnt utilise the food he was eating and as such he shit it out before it was digested and stored as fat.
Have I missed anything

Interesting, posting videos of every single meal for 21 days, along with testing his bodyfat along with blood work before and after the 21 day expirement, yet you still don't believe it?

No, just supplying evidence on the effectiveness of a true keto diet, 75% fat 20% protein 5% carbs, and how a calorie is definitely not a calorie and the myth of high protein is completely overrated.
-

because they are likely the same calorific value.

sweetcorn in your shit should tell you that you dont absorb all the calories and nutrients from your food.
Shit has calories.
-
also sounds like hes on a lot of coke or amphetamines.
-
Keto Kid is on coke and spam
-
I just realized that YouTube videos don't embed for me on this forum.
Anybody know why?

Interesting so just eat unlimited calories and take a ton of laxatives, maybe throw in a enema here and there and you will be shredded?
also sounds like hes on a lot of coke or amphetamines.
Or just has high energy levels from not having spiking and crashing blood sugar levels all day.

Out of the few rules set up - since this is a violation as you say - does that have an impact on this posters account?

I'm not spamming, i'm not the dude in the video, like I said I just find this to be an interesting experiment and it's completely bodybuilding related in many different aspects. How many debates have been made on this forum with regards to calories and caloric restriction, and protein requirements, not to mention people think they are doing ketogenic diets but have no clue what a true keto diet actually entails (Piana comes to mind), the fats need to be super high to reap the benefits of this diet, and as shown in this expiriment lower protein doesn't equal loss of muscle mass.

Eat 3500 cals a day over your maintenance for a week, that should (if science is correct) equal 7lbs of pure fat on your body
Now, why do you think your body doesnt turn every extra calorie to fat?

Just stating the obvious, back in the 60's-70's high fat was the typical diet, Gironda steak, eggs, heavy cream, with a carb reefed once a week, seemed to work wonders for them. So why are the current crop of guys stuck on low fat diets?

because its calories that count and reducing fat is a quicker way of reducing calories due to the difference in gram per gram.
As long as you take less cals in than you use you will lose weight, more than one way to skin a cat.
-
I eat a higher fat diet and have lost 40 lbs in 6 months.
Eggs, bacon, steak, avocado, avocado oil, coconut oil, broccoli and cauliflower.
No idea how many calories but 4-5 meals per day.
It takes a few months to adjust and I ate some small potatoes for a while until dropping all starch and sugar.
My shits are smaller but the same as before but that took a while to adjust.
The thing I like about this diet is you have zero blood sugar issues and feel very even.
Energy levels are fine and I train fine.
If you try this kind of diet you have to give it 3 months before judging whether it's for you.

You cannot win my friend as you now see there are plenty of lifters out there who has similar philosophies like I do, accept the knowledge or spend the rest of your life being a idiotic retard.

This is what I like about it too. Sometimes it works so well I can go all day and forget the need to eat.

and as shown in this expiriment lower protein doesn't equal loss of muscle mass.
so you said "true keto diet" is 20 percent protein and you or "he" ate 4,000 calories a day, so that's 800 calories a day of protein, or 200 grams of protein a day. The guy weighs just under 150 lbs, so that's over 1.3 grams protein per lb bodyweight and you're calling that "low Protein?"
There's more than one way to diet for fat loss, and different people have different preferences and responses. You're not going to get much love spamming this page with one specific approach as though it's the end all be all, especially when enough people here are knowledgeable on the subject and have tried different diets for themselves.

too much protein can take you out of ketosis.
-
The guy in the video is also trying to market this new EAS keto MRP that has 20 grams of protein, 32 grams fat (including 0.5 grams of trans fat), and 5 grams of carbs (with zero fiber), and it sells for more than most MRP's. The ingredients and mostly powdered eggs and butter lol, you can get much better keto macros by just eating some cheese sticks and fiber caps, will fill you more and not need a blender either and cost a fraction.
-
I'm still not getting the chocolate covered nuts in the AM, even if he is in a caloric deficit. I used to do Keto - Body Opus and the highest GI food I ate was rice cakes.
If you can eat chocolate covered nuts in the AM I'll switch back to this diet.
-
too much protein can take you out of ketosis.
Just going by his ratios of 20 percent protein and 4000 calories a day - that's pretty protein right there, especially for his bodyweight.
Magically the low quality EAS supplement he endorses is also 75/20/5 lol

probably dark chocolate - either way the guy is spamming and has an agenda
-

Nice you learn something from me this is correct good boy (pat you like a dog) when protein is too high the body will use it as glucose, the majority of your diet should be fats and lots of fiber.

he was eating over 350g of fat a day, and his protein varied from 140 to 100g a day, carbs were usually below 30g

he makes the chocolate with cream cheese of full fat cream, 100% unsweetened cocoa, and stevia, put melts it down, covers the nuts, puts them in the freezer/fridge until the harden.
-
too much protein can take you out of ketosis.
He tests his blood ketones through out the experiment with a glucometer, everytime in deep ketosis, with his milimolers in optimum range.
-
a low carb diet (whether full-fledged keto or not) is good for losing weight quickly for (say) 8-12 weeks or so ... but I enjoy complex carbs too much to permanently adopt the keto lifestyle.
-

how many times a day does he jerk off?

Oh, so that means he wasn't on a "true keto diet" as you posted specific ratios of in this same thread earlier:
No, just supplying evidence on the effectiveness of a true keto diet, 75% fat 20% protein 5% carbs

because you are in ketosis and burning fat for fuel
so what happens if you're in ketosis but consuming more fat than you can burn for fuel?
-
so what happens if you're in ketosis but consuming more fat than you can burn for fuel?
You spontaneously combust.
-
so what happens if you're in ketosis but consuming more fat than you can burn for fuel?
In his case he lost fat, obviously it will vary on the individual and many other factors, he touches on the fact that there was no way he was in a calorie deficit, he says he was obviously in a calorie surplus.
-
keto diet does work ive done it, but you do have to keep track of your calories for sure,
no way i would eat 4k a day . thats crazy .
the macros for a true keto are
75% fats
20% protein
5% carbs usually works

Lyle McDonald says > 100g glucose (which includes 50% of the protein you eat, that turns to glucose) should cause you to exit ketosis.
As Bob's mentioned, 20% protein would be too high in the case of a 4000 kcal diet (that alone is 100g glucose, assuming 100% digestion and ignoring thermic effect of feeding).
What do you think?
-
I've dabbled with the keto diet a few times
unfortunately I like beer and other carbs too much
also the lack of muscle glycogen sucks if you care about getting stronger or even just getting a pump at the gym
If I try it again I'm going to start slowly lowering carbs and only have carbs before/after workout and adding fats slowly
This is a pretty good site for info on keto diet: https://www.dietdoctor.com/ (https://www.dietdoctor.com/)

Aside from MCT oils and shakes, how the hell do you get that much fat? I don't wanna smell like bacon or meat 24/7, but I do want to do more keto.
I unintentionally go keto when I'm doing super long fasts. And I notice I get as peeled as taking a lasix (which obviously has diminishing returns and deleterious health consequences). So I go keto when I can. But doing it deliberately and on a regular basis seems so restrictive in terms of lifestyle.

who wants to give up permanently pizza, pasta, potatoes & sandwiches on tasty fresh real bread for sour cream, coconut oil & grass-fed butter?

Grass fed beef, grass fed butter, coconut oil, mac nut oil, avocado, whole eggs, bacon, nuts, nut butters.

I started a high fat diet 6 months ago after getting a high cholesterol test from my doctor. She told me to eat the standard low fat diet but I know how that always goes for me... poorly.
I have been very strict and have lost 35 lbs or so.
My good cholesterol has gone from 40 to 51 and my total cholesterol has gone from 5.9 to 4.8

good shit - nice work on the weight loss
me, i can only cut on keto... plus my cals always end up being lower on keto too.
-
Keep hearing about these amazing keto diets and feel bad for the poor scientist who despite there best efforts have never been able to show keto diets to be any more effective than a high carb low fat diet for example calories being equal. Of course the scientist do there test under very controlled conditions where calories are very carefully tracked and people can't cheat or make untrue claims.

why does that jackass in the video sound exactly like that other half black jackass in those other videos

Eat a super high carb diet but with the same lower cals and you would have had the same results

One lasix will not damage your health. I took one today cos I drank about three litres of water/tea/juice yesterday evening.

everyone is different and every body responds to different diets and training, for me... keto is the king - im not a fan of it but in order to get "lean" thatis how I roll
sample day
meal1 2 cups liquid egg whites (I just drink them) so dozen egg whites 2 tablespoons cocunut oil
train/cardio
meal2 50 gram whey shake (isopure) with 2 tablespoons natty peanut butter
meal3 chicken breast with greens
meal4 50 gram whey shake and 3 tablespoons natty pb
meal5 red meat or fatty fish with greens
meal6 a few eggs cooked with coconut oil
jerk off - then bed

Hey, I know Keto diets work great for many people. I have tried it once and it did work. I just don't believe they work by some magic. The work because many people find them easier to stick to than other types of diets. Plus the initial water loss you get makes them appear to work faster than other types of diets. Diet adherence is the #1 rule for any diet to work well. Whether you are consuming whole grain quality carbs as your primary fuel or fats as your primary fuel, as long as you keep your calories at a lower overall level, you will lose weight.

i personally wished a low fat/moderate protein/moderate carb diet worked me as well... but just my thunder thighs require carbs to be cut

I think the above diet is great but the militant keto nutjobs will say noooooo that's too much protein and not enough fat etc, but I have a hard time believing (based on personal experience too) that at the end of a diet one's physique will look better by having a greater percentage of fat calories vs protein.

ya... i read bodyopus and dan duchaine is more fats too.
I weigh 220lbs to 230lbs
each meal is about 50-55 grams of protein so 6 meals x 50 - 300 grams of protein for a bber who is training hard as hell/competing seems reasonable. its 1.3 grams of protein per bodyweight
-

my calories probably are lower however I was always hungry eating more carbs and I ate more often.

You should ditch the whey and the natty pb. Suggest:
Meal1: 5 eggs, few slices of bacon
pre workout: 1 tbspn mct oil, coconut oil, heavy cream coffee
Meal2: grass fed beef, spinach
Meal3: chicken salad, with macnut oil
Meal4: salmon, asparagus
Meal5 4 eggs, 1 avocado

That's right, but it's not a good long term strategy. And fasting is actually incredibly good for you as well.
I love fasting for a long time and then taking a lasix within the next couple days or so. Keeps me incredibly dry and lean all the time. It took me a while to get shredded and stay shredded without a ton of commitment.
I'm at the point where I intermittent fast and can eat whatever the hell I want. Never get fat.
-
I follow this guy on YouTube and have been doing the exact same thing, same coffee, meals ect 4000 calories, sometimes more. I'm 168 pounds and after 20 days i lost no weight, i also gained none either, for the entire period my weight fluctuated up and down 2 pounds. Due to practically zero carbs you don't store any fat you dont use, just shit it out. If i eat less than 2500 calories of fat a day i loose weight. I'm small framed so bigger guys could probably loose weight on 3500_4000 a day.
