Great interview by Coach...
-
dang... doesnt matter how big short dudes get, lol
-
Blais, great guy, great friend for 35 years.
-
Blais, great guy, great friend for 35 years.
did you ever tell him how stupid he was doing that to his arms...?
-
Blais, great guy, great friend for 35 years.
Are you serious ???? Do you wear I'm with stupid t-shirt when you hang out with Gerry ?
-
The arms are fucking implants. What a pathetic liar. Did he say he used Synthol 13 years ago? Disgusting bullshit.
-
there's a video of him getting interviewed by special ed years ago...already an oilbag
-
Are you serious ???? Do you wear I'm with stupid t-shirt when you hang out with Gerry ?
Nah...I save that for my night out with you Doggler :D
-
Arms look extremely bad. Pathetic, really. Even a know-nothing will know something about them is WAY off. I mean, this guy is well spoken and friendly, but there’s clearly an issue, because to do this ...
I hope he doesn’t suffer any health issues as a result of his decision, but if he does, it’s squarely on him. Pure foolishness.
As an aside, it’s an interesting shot to have both him and Jose side-by-side. The latter’s physique looks thick and powerful. Impressive. Gerry’s looks grotesquely distorted and muscularly unimpressive. Just wrong.
Also: In the first video, when asked what he does to train his biceps, he states he mainly sticks to compound exercises. I thought this guy is a personal trainer. Those who know stuff know what’s wrong with this comment.
-
Great interview by Coach...
LMFAO....You are spot on with that one. Even Coach gotta admit that there is an insane resemblance.

Nah...I save that for my night out with you Doggler :D
This is your friend ;D ;D ;D ;D

BIO
About 36 years ago I began my journey that takes me to this day. My story's
beginning is very much like most young kids today. I was the shy quiet, artistic
kid in school that got bullied daily. Fortunately for me, my parents blessed me
with some incredible genetics. ::) I got so good at running from the mean kids I
became extremely fast. They could never catch me. I loved that powerful feeling
of pushing my limits. Eventually, a few bullies caught up with me and knocked me
around. I went home upset and started throwing around some weights in my
basement that my little brother never used. I remember my very first workout. I
was hooked.....I was addicted! I grew like a weed! In school I participated in some sports but only to complement my weight
training. I would do sports after school and go to work immediately after. When
I would get home from work i would lift weights for hours. I should note that I
rode my pedal bike to and from work (work was 10 miles from home).YES, I was a
little excessive :)After graduating high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Because of my constant attention to detail, I was immediately noticed by the
Drill Instructors and they gave me the task of the prestigious "Guide"(in charge
of the other recruits)I graduated top of my class as "Honor Man" and was meritoriously promoted. I got to wear those Dress Blues on graduation:)
During my 4 incredible years in the Marine Corps I began competing in bodybuilding and Powerlifting events. I won my first contest. I was now hooked again on an even higher level. I started helping other Marines with weight
training and contest prep. It was the beginning of decades of personal training. It was my purpose. I could feel it flowing through my veins like fire. I enjoyed guiding people to their best. After my honorable discharge from the Military, I dedicated 20 plus years to
competing in bodybuilding and personal training. Over these past two decades I've personally achieved some proud accomplishments such as the overall winner of the 2001 New England Bodybuilding Championships, as well as being a National
level competitor. I’ve been hired by famous actors, actresses, radio personalities, professional athletes but more important I've had the great honor
of training THE Most incredible people(regular, normal people) I've ever known. This past 36 years has been a blessing. The opportunities I have been honored to bestow are without words. I started writing a book several years ago. I hope to
someday complete it. It would quite an interesting read to say the least. If you’ve ever seen me in town or beating clients up in our studio here you
may be a little apprehensive to meet me....but honestly....I'm that same little shy, artistic kid from 36 years ago. The only difference is that playground is MY playground now and I’m the one kicking butt....in a good way!

The arms are implants. That's what's fucked up, admit to SEO instead... because implants are a step below even that fuckery.
-
The arms are fucking implants. What a pathetic liar. Did he say he used Synthol 13 years ago? Disgusting bullshit.
The guy sounds somewhat believable but that much oily looking scar tissue 13 years after he stopped? Possibly some PMMA in the meanwhile like Piana? Despite all the regrets, etc., he still loves wearing the tight shirt, moving the arms around for the camera, and “accidentally” flexing the guns. Still kind of hard to fathom what really goes on here. Nice guy though.

Back in 2004-2005, I would post on MuscleMayhem under various names [Lucerne was one of them]. There was one long thread for the 2005 New England Championships. The same photos above got posted in it - I think from 2004 - and people naturally started bashing Gerry. That was when Tim Wescott [Getbig's "Wes", who also ran "Weights on the Web" at the time] pulled out the ban-stick, stating that the thread was a multi-page thread of comradery and motivation.
Yes, that's right - Tim, in typical MuscleMayhem style, banned anyone who STATED THE OBVIOUS about the arms of Gerry Blais.
That type of mod behaviour was, incidentally, exactly what eventually made that board disappear. It was actually the type of group think that made visiting Mayhem an awful experience. Seeing that level of delusion was really quite remarkable.
Incidentally, it is times like this when I'm glad I have autism. At NO POINT did I buy into Mayhem's bullshit - not for a second. The thing about autism is that you don't go along with bullshit just because a majority of the population does. It forces you to see the woods from the trees, and just basically cut through the bullshit. I love it. Speaking of that, in the original "King Kamali Kitchen Lighting" thread, Barbara Ward Kamali once said that people bashing King's photos just motivate him. I said that deriving motivation of such negativity seems stupid, and that confident people don't derive motivation from such a thing. What happened next? Every PC in my university was banned from going on the message board on MuscleMayhem. ;D
That board was pure group think.

They banned me for my thread entitled: "Getting Ripped on Ice Cream" I predated that IIFYM macros bullshit.
I had another thread on there once with just Macros of foods and asked them if they would eat it based on Macros. Then I would reveal the food to which I would then say, Congratulations, you not only proved my point, but you are now eating Pizza during a contest prep!
Fuck that place.

Yeah - you did predate the IIFYM by a good five years. That next thread was pure cruelty in action. Good. ;D
That's honestly what you need to snap people out of The Matrix.

The more eccentric fans and wannabes get a lot of the blame. Back in the day Brad Hollibaugh and John Riggins used to walk around in front of the Beacon Theater during the New York Pro with their comparably enhanced biceps and triceps and they got nearly as much attention as the guys on stage. Same thing is true at expos today. If you have an “issue” like these guys do, you’ll put up with a significant amount of “hatin” for a dose of admiration of your synthol, cause it’s the admiration from the ones who are impressed that makes you tick.

I wanted to quote your first comment, and then I realized you posted another relevant comment that can be addressed in the same post. What I was going to add was - did you notice the Boston Mass himself complimenting Gerry's big arms towards the end of the second video? As you said, it is the compliments that make him tick - and even the comment from Boston Mass is an example of such a compliment. So there you have it. Jose probably shouldn't have said that, but at the same time, Gerry's arms are big - so inevitably people will say it.
My question is - are those implants? Assuming he hasn't touched them in 13 years, what else could they be?
-
The easier answer is, YES, he has touched them in the last 13 years. Why believe him on that, lol? Dude has contest history going past 2004 too, btw.
-

Because if he has implants, it would make sense that he hasn't touched them. From there, he just blames synthol, since synthol has less stigma.
Just like Gregg Valentino blamed steroids, because steroids had less stigma than synthol.

We talk about bicep "implants" a lot assuming that they would look malformed like synthol blobs, but the only time I ever remember a bber being busted for it was Lee Apperson back in like 2005 or so... You can see that it looks almost like a film/cap over his bi (tris also look funky).

This is the flavor of implant that could be involved. Where I have seen it, it doesn’t necessarily have a super-hardened and separated look like in that other illustration. It goes in the direction of being somewhat blobby and smooth looking. It also sometimes shifts around.

Great post. I believe Apperson had those implants as early as the 2003 Master's Olympia. That would be as far back as I remember the accusations going. And it's possible I am remembering that wrong.

And the tattoos sort of try to disguise what’s up:

Those are actually flattering compared to the pics from this month. I knew him back in the day before he did this to his arms. Years later when I saw him I really didn't know what I was looking at. They look like malformed rubber.
These are from New Englands this month.

To be fair, for being over 50, SANS THE ARMS, he doesn't look bad. I think he looks pretty good for 51. The arms and also the tattoos [IMO] ruin everything.

Fuck! I cant believe what kind of trash doc who operates these things on...
-
when you click on it it says page not saved...
Hm...now I'm starting to think that the pages are a little fickle. Which sort of makes sense. After all - the Web Archive saves literally millions of pages. So it's not a huge surprise that some of the pages have trouble loading.
It's actually pretty cool to go back and look at the old threads on MuscleMayhem. I really enjoy reading the old threads. TA was a prolific poster at the time, as was Tom Prince, Jeff McFarland, and some other well known people. Too bad the board was over-moderated - you couldn't say one negative word about a pro bodybuilder. If you did, you would immediately have your post deleted, and you would risk being banned. For that reason, the board eventually folded.
-

Yes like I said they're implants. That's what makes this dude extra pathetic. Not that he has implants, which is pathetic enough, but that he blames synthol.

Do they even make them that shape/size? Nothing I can find looks like that other then synthol or PMMA or a combo.
-
I did notice that they flex and move a bit like Piana's used to..
-

I don't think you can get Synthol to look like that. The shape and size looks exactly the same as 13 years ago.
I haven't researched it but I guess you can customize implants to any shape and size. Maybe had them done abroad? Doesn't look like Synthol, ADE... PMMA probably wasn't around back then.

Guy needs to be told to remove himself from stages. He looks absolutely ridiculous. As if bodybuilding doesn’t already have credibility problems. Yeesh.

True, they do look generally similar in 2017 to 2004, but don’t they look even bigger, which would suggest ongoing work? Maybe a conventional original implant, but I still go with synthol along with PMMA, having seen Tijuana PMMA in biceps and triceps of a friend (plus Piana similarities). Under any of the scenarios, wonder how much he forked over to the doctor for that hot mess. But the doctor knows by now how his bread gets buttered, the bigger the unit the higher the fee?

Is that why you banned everyone on Mayhem who bashed him? ;D

Correct. On MuscleMayhem, Wes would ban anyone who said "I mean this in the most respectful way possible, but I believe that the arms of Gerry Blais look suspect, and I would personally take points off his score in contest if I was a judge." It was hilarious - that board was pure groupthink in action. It was pathetic. You couldn't utter a negative word about Gerry without Wes banning you. Normally that level of protection was reserved for pros, but Wes made it a point to specifically ban anyone who basically said anything negative at all in the 2005 New England Championships thread. That's when I lost all respect for Mayhem, and for Wes - but I no longer feel that way about Wes. We are cool, and he is a great champion bodybuilder himself.
Also, I am fairly certain that Wes won the "Mr. Olympus" contest in 2005, in the over 50 category. Yes, that's right - you are looking at a Mr. Olympus winner!!! Awesome stuff. 8)

The good thing about implanted muscles, is that they last forever, this bodybuilder here had his implant operation in the 90s and second pic is recent and can see he maintains the same look via implants:

Mayhem had a strict banning policy that was to be followed issued by Chad himself.

Nice to see Getbig's own "The_Coach" still active both behind and in front of the scenes in the sport of bodybuilding:

The awful hands clasped most muscular pose aside, could one perhaps see the front double biceps pose as being somewhat aesthetic and nice looking? I mean...we who follow bodybuilding know it's bad, but would what the average person think? In fact, it seems like - triceps aside - he got the proportions about as good as any I've seen. It's the triceps, forearms, and something about the texture or colouration of the arms that make them look fake. But would normal people stop and immediately think synthol? Especially in 2004 and 2005 when less was known about synthol?

I'm pretty sure Be There has won shows in the UK.
Getbig's own "TA" won the Mr. North Carolina, in 1999, I believe. He was young too at the time. 17 or 18.

Really this guy doesn't look bad a bon bodybuider wouldnt think shit about it other than big ass arms he truly isn't that bad if he would have stopped a hair sooner.

Answer Be There's question. Have you told your friend how stupid he looks?
Have you watched his YouTube videos? I watched a few of them. Seems to me that he gets a fair amount of compliments based on his arms...he didn't say that, but he eluded to people asking him questions about training that would suggest to me that they caught on to something leading them to believe Gerry is an expert - my assumption would be the arms.
So yeah, that's why he does it.
Does he look stupid? To us on Getbig, with an eye for bodybuilding, yes. The arms at least. To others? Layman? Those who do not work out? His arms probably look massive at rest - as if they belonged to Arnold. I do not know that the average person sees his arms as looking stupid. So that is probably what motivated him to look like that.

Have you watched his YouTube videos? I watched a few of them. What makes you think normal people - many of whom literally haven't lifted a weight in their entire existence - would see his arms at rest and immediately know something is off? Even if that photo on this page, his arms look bad to us - but do they look anything as obviously bad as the contest photos?
There are way worse examples of synthol out there...or implants, assuming they are implants. He has a personal training business/studio, right? Do you think he's making that up? How do you suppose he gets clients? Obviously there are some people who believe his arms are legit. What I'm saying is that there are normal people who do not work out who are impressed with his arms. Something made him get to that point, right? So what was it?
I think you may be projecting your bodybuilding expertise a little here...

I'm going with Be There on this. Regular folks know what's up with those arms. They might not know the proper diagnosis, but they know something's wrong. Most folks understand proportion, and can pick up when the lines are oddly off.

total morons which includes all his clients, only a total moron would pay this joker for advice.
a guy who walks around like that you have to wonder not about what his perception of himself is, its that does he really believe that people look at him with anything other than derision, its like a wig wearer FFS,they really believe they are fooling people with the ginger squirrel on their fucking heads.

Don’t buy the above argument altogether. Guy looks pretty good for 50. Hair style is not high on my list but it’s youthful. And put him in a booth at an expo, there would be a line of fan boys with no derision going on. And if he were like some others we’ve heard about (which he isn’t) he could probably make some money with those arms behind closed doors. It’s the whole bodybuilding scene that is as weird as he is.

He's so out of touch with reality that it's a mental illness.....

Sorry Matt, but I have to disagree with you ....... I’m with ‘Be there’ on this one.
I showed this pic to my laymen coworkers who don’t work out and they agreed Gerry’s arms look retarded. They asked if he had “put woman’s breast implants into his arms?” (Quote) They found Jose Raymond to look beastly huge ....but at least “real”.
Gerry may be a nice guy in person (although clearly Jersey shore material) .... but I am astounded anyone pays him to be their trainer. In fact I’m left speechless.
