Post by: brock125 on April 15, 2006, 05:01:42 PM
Everyone knows of Ronnie's 200 lb db presses but has anyone ever done more? I heard Ronnie pressed 250s too anyone know maybe?

There are photos of Pat Casey using 210lb'er's:) on the bench press.

Edit: Oops, sorry, the photos are of 180's being inclined, but it's been mentioned by B. Wilhelm that he also used the 210's.

i read about that in Milo, he supposedly took them off the rack, sat down, kicked them up himself, performed the reps and returned them to the rack, none of this pussy ass getting a partner to hand them to him and then dropping them on the floor bullshit, that's the kind of strength you'd expect from a LEGITIMATE 600 lb. bencher, Paul Anderson one arm shoulder push pressed specially made 300 lb. dumbbells.

Yeah, getting them up is hard enough. Let alone getting a few reps and putting the weights back on the rack.

I read somewhere that Metroflex has 300lb dumbbells that Ronnie uses for shrugs...I've got no idea if he's ever tried to press them (I'd doubt it though).

I heard of a Samoan gym, they have custom 270's and a few guys can rep them out. My friends dad, whos also a big ass samoan, used to warm up with 600 lbs on the bench, Someone told me he tore his pec clean off the bone one day, pretty dumb.

Well If your 250lbs and can do 10 pushups then technically you can claim you can bench a 250lb dumbell for 10.

Some guy on Anabolex posted a video of himself doing inclines with 210 lb dumbbells. He also has the unofficial incline bench record of 530 lb.

Those were some weird looking dumbbells in the 210 incline clip. I thought they would look goofy- too wide or something. Did they somehow design thin plates on the db?

That was the old World Gym.  Those DB's along with all the 200+ DB's are now at the Gold's Gym in Honolulu,  No one that I know of have pressed them but numerous guys have rowed them including Ronnie for 12 good reps.  I know a few guys who do close grip benches with just one of them.  They hold the ends and its like doing close grip benches.  Pretty cool.  I rolled them one day to the rack.
