How did he play with the strings flipped?   Hendrix flipped the strings around on his right hand guitars. Dale must have had a great mind to figure out upside down chords.

Very unique guitar player, played it flipped, and used to pick fast, (thrash-like) for his surf music.
1 of a kind..

He was an inspiration to hendrix. Got the chance to meet Dick Dale several times and attend his shows over the years.  A living legend.

Saw him in a little shithole club right after Pulp Fiction around '95. He ripped that place up. I had no idea about the illness. Even though it was obvious he enjoyed playing, I thought he seemed a little gruff so this gives that time some context.

Talented musicians and singers are dying left and right.  We lost the beautiful and talented Nancy Wilson (Jazz vocalist) last December and now Dick Dale...And yet that artificial white woman Be-Once and her Vogon of a husband still shit on the world via their "music".

RIP  Dick Dale and Nancy Wilson. :'( :'(

Saw him in Austin around 95. Great guitarist. He was playing in a club called the Chuggin Monkey my Brother in Law owned on 6th street. Being a huge Beach Boy fan I made sure I was there.

No I have not. I have seen the bats fly out from under the bridge 3 times in my 24 years in Austin. I also had an apartment on Town lake about 2 miles from the bridge and would watch bats all evening from my balcony and I am proud to say I have never been shit on.
