The mass monsters carry significantly more muscle tissue, but smaller guys can get really diced and the muscle quality shows way more for some reason. Why? You see natural competitors completely sliced, although they are small as hell, like 150 lbs, they look like they are much lower bodyfat than most IFBB Pro's, even though they carry less muscle tissue. Even though Phil Heath steps on stage at probably 5% bodyfat, he looks like he's 10% bodyfat, and the natural diced competitor steps on stage at 5% bodyfat and actually looks it, dry to the bone, striations everywhere, even though he has 100 lbs less muscle on him

I once asked how Layne Norton was able to get more shredded than Bob Cicherillo...and someone said that it was because Bob weighed 50-lb more.

In order to became a mass monster, one must use insulin. Insulin doesn't make you shredded.

Insulin and gh
Gh making the skin thicker
Other factors as well
-
probably more muscle and weight = more water and bloat
you could be taking hgh and slin but if you kept your weight as low as possible you'd be shredded.

No body that’s taking insulin or gh is trying to keep their weight as low as possible, people that are doing insulin are doing it to go above and beyond in size
Getting shredded and insulin is a contradiction, and we are talking about “shredded” competition shape
Always the guy that isn’t doing those compounds get the most shredded compared to guys on insulin

All that bloated cosmetic muscle they carry looks like crap. There is no density to their physiques anymore.

No idea why any sane person would like to look "shredded". Just looks unhealthy, unnatural, and ugly to me.
Sacrificing your health for some dumb schmoe judges? And a 2 dollar 95 "trophee"?
