Title: Finished A New Video From My Vintage Clothes Series: Pay Attention Coach
Post by: Vince G, CSN MFT on July 11, 2019, 03:46:48 PM
This one is for how to get rid of musty odors from vintage clothes along with some other tips to bring the clothes back to life.   Bought 120 dollars worth of clothes for a lousy 8 bucks at Goodwill.   Will publish tonight.   You wanted to learn about my methods, Coach, so time to get a lesson in Vincology

Will be waiting for Vin-Dogs video as usual. This time he wont be in the car JUST CHILLIN!
The great one will be providing useful info for the masses. I found a nice Philadelphia Flyers hoodie at Goodwill (brand new) but it has that Goodwill smell to it.
Faded a bit after washing, but lets see what Vince recommends.

Interesting you'd want to remove the authenticity of the vintage clothes Vince.

Would you was a game worn NFL jersey from Eli Manning or MLB's Mike Trout or NBA's Dr. J or Nasser's Oylmpia thong?

This shirt is perfect for business casual purposes and looks awesome with a black or navy blue sports coat.  I paired it with a nice pair of jeans and some Calvin Klein Chelsea Boots with a Movodo Museum watch when I went out last night.

That is how a man is suppose to look, Henda and I'll be making an episode in the future on this

Yes I normally make sure the T-shirt isn’t worn back to front or inside out

Vince - Have you ever thought about adding personal makeovers and home makeovers to your repertoire?  If I end up divorced, I'd like to hire you to help furnish my new place.  Hell, maybe even update my wardrobe.  I'll need to up my game a little while on the hunt for meaningless one night stands.

Wouldn't denatured alcohol accomplish the same thing at less cost?

Are you nuts??  Remember that you're going to wear the clothing...denatured alcohol is foul smelling and will likely disintegrate it

I wouldn't buy used furniture, cars, clothes, and definitely no antiques. I believe in haunted items. I had a bad experience when I bought a used  sofa in college. Unexplained bruises, scratch marks, injuries, and illnesses that all went away when I got rid of it. This may sound silly but can be very serious.

Agree with you save for cars.  I'll never buy a brand new car again.  Total rip off.

Is that the same thing as rubbing alcohol Vince (Denatured). Would that work so I can drink the 3.00 Vodka??

Great video, I LOL'd when you started cracking up. Epic catch phrases too "WRONG"... "WRONG"...

I'm assuming you'd wash the denatured alcohol out of the clothes before you wear them.

Denatured alcohol will disintegrate plastic, cotton and polyester are fine. In fact most people use cotton/poly clothes when applying denatured alcohol to an area.

Vince you wanted to teach us something with your videos and now you learned about denatured alcohol  and how to properly use it.

interesting how Vodka does the trick for vintage clothes

I love Vintage luxury leather goods - collection of sorts  and I bought a Fendi Briefcase online from Japan (i assuming 1980s briefcase) and had the worse cigarette smell i could ever imagine. it was terrible!  i ended up using auto detail products over and over to remove the smoke smell.  this Japanese guy was a chain smoker to the 10th degree.

auto detailer products work for many things that require serious TLC

I would have to know the history of the vehicle. If there is any deaths tied the vehicle, then I wouldn't buy it.

I would disagree. The experiences that I had were paranormal. The item that I purchased was from the family of a dead man. It all started when I bought it, and ended when I trashed it. I will never buy second hand again!

There is no good evidence that paranormal activity is real.

Anecdotal evidence is an extremely poor form of evidence.

You can have any experience. It doesn’t necessarily make it so.

Are you just now figuring this out? Of course I am nuts. Why else would I still be posting on Getbig!

While denatured alcohol smells bad, it is used for spot removal. Denatured alcohol and isopropyl alcohol are degreasing agents that work best as spot cleaners, removing surface soils that aren't affected by soap or detergent. Denatured alcohol and isopropyl alcohol will safely remove stains from many fabrics. Use to remove ink or sap. Unless your buying second hand 'delicates' from Good Will, denatured alcohol should not be a problem. Remember to blot and not rub.

Methanol is a light, volatile, colorless, flammable liquid with a distinctive odor similar to that of ethanol (drinking alcohol). Vodka, whisky, brandy, rum etc. are distilled drinks and have alcohol content anywhere between 20–50% in different drinks. However, like you said, Vodka has no smell unless it's flavored.  :)

I thought it would be a bad idea to use alcohol to clean leather. I was wrong. It's supposedly good for spot removal.
