Who do you think deserved the nod?

Sounds like controversy is just a part of every bodybuilding contest.
-
I remember this contest and it wasn't even close Haney simply dominated in 86 his best conditions for a contest were 86 and 91 , the only real close call for Haney was Labrada in 1990 and he wasn't as sharp in 1989 but 90 was his wake-up call so to speak , Christian or Gaspari never were a threat to Haney , people say Haney was all upper-body if thats the case what about Christian?? Gaspari was big & ripped but lacked aesthetics and structure he went far with his limited genetics and freaky intensity but it was never going to happen for him , the only legitimate threat for Haney was Labrada & Yates and maybe a much bigger Vince Taylor but Haney stood alone for years .
-
No one is questioning Gaspari's conditioning , at that time he was probably the heaviest muscles competitor with the greatest conditioning but make no mistake , Haney looked fantastic that year , Rich was an underdog and he was a fan favorite some people wanted him to win hence the boos .

Oh Matt I just read your review on the contest and I just wanted to inform you that Ron Love was 6'0" not 5'9" and I'm sure he competed over 200lbs

I sure hope you keep on going down year by year! I am really looking forward to the golden age. Specifically 69-75 Olympia! :)
