Title: What is the most comfortable X-training sneaker youve used in your workouts?
Post by: old-school-lifter on October 30, 2019, 03:17:11 PM
and did you use it for running /walking also?

ive found Nike to be so uncomfortable esp their Pegasus line running shoes, esp if you have wider feet at the MTP joints as I do

the only Nike shoe I found comfy were Air jordans

I find New Balance shoes far more comfortable although they don't looks as good as most Nike designs

thoughts?

You should never lift weights in a running shoe. It gives no lateral support. If you are Olympic lifting then use an Olympic lifting shoe. For bodybuilding, fitness and stuff use a cross fit sneaker like a Nano from Reebok or a even just a sturdy walking/basketball sneaker.

I just started wearing Nike Metcons 2 and I really like them.

Prior to these I always wore a basketball shoe.

I prefer indoor soccer shoes. Flat, thin, indoor soles with plenty of traction. Low cut to allow for full ankle range of motion. Big selection of brands, styles, and price ranges. They are made for indoor soccer which involves plenty of running/cutting/sprinting.

I have very wide feet too. The day I discovered 2E and 4E widths is the day life got immeasurably better for my feet.

You can get New Balance Minumus in wide sizing. They're a barefoot shoe (but not a toe shoe).

Merrel Vapor Gloves are a bit narrow but they stretch. Also an option for training (not so much for walking long distances in).

Adidas NMD R1.

The most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. By far the best. The inside is wide and flat, but constantly fits to the shape of the foot. They are also very light and have excellent grip and stability.

I do pretty much everything in Redwing boots 18 hours a day.  They smell like a landfill's asshole.  Impressed by the durability.

Metcons are good for the gym, but not great if you cross train and run a lot.  They work on the treadmill, but wouldn't if you went outside.

Look into Altra - they have a wide front box, which is how most people are shaped.  I'm using their Lone Peak shoes when I run / ruck outdoors, Metcons indoors, squat/deadlift in socks.

My buddy got a pair of NoBulls and said they're awesome.
