have you read his book?
Every single story is about him bullying someone
Beating up people in clubs, jeez a doorman is supposed to ask people to leave and then if required forcebly remove them, not start throwing punches
Did you read the story about him biting his friends throat out?
Bully
"a person who habitually seeks to harm or intimidate those whom they perceive as vulnerable."
every single situation in his book could have been resolved without violence.
Frank Warren Lennys second cousin who arranged fights for him wrote
"He was a terrible bully, Lenny. One of the biggest bullies you will ever meet, always intimidating people. I had a couple of scrapes with him myself."

Some people deserve to have their throats bitten out

yes, a good friend of his who had ben drinking all day with who had wanted to stay with a woman he had pulled rather than carry on drinking with him..
what the fuck was the guy thinking...
-
McLean was a bully who stretched the truth so much in that damn book. Dude claims he never lost a fight, but there are many instances where he had. He just ignored those. Got his ass handed to him quite a few times on the cobbles too in those bare knuckle fights.

I knew Lenny - He Trained at the old Crystal Palace Gym south London
The U.K. powerlifting team trained there - Bob Hoskins used to train there - 300lb Bencher.
Opinions vary on Lenny that’s for Sure.
RIP Lenny.

I would have never discerned that from his voice.
I had to dig up this old YouTube video to find out whether or not he was speaking with an English accent, and low and behold - he was. Just like Christian Bale. And Hugh Laurie too, haha. I had no idea:

Yeah, haha. I'm actually watching Shattered on YouTube now. I don't normally download movies, but since I own it on Laserdisc and have it in storage somewhere, I'll allow this one. Good quality upload too - I'm glad YouTube allowed this to be uploaded. Last I checked, I couldn't find it anywhere online to buy. Here is the link [I won't embed it since it's a bit off-topic to the rest of this thread]. Bob Hoskins shows up a bit later in the movie, and doesn't sound English at all. He was a great actor:
I remember one day almost exactly 20 years ago to the day when I was the sickest I had ever been in my life, walking home from school, and watching that movie...the Laserdisc was scratched and I missed the beginning, which is fundamental to the entire plot, LOL.
Great movie - if you are a Bob Hoskins fan, I recommend it.
Hey illuminati - out of curiosity, did you meet Bob Hoskins? As I understand it, you are a retired champion bodybuilder from England. Is that right?
-
There can only be one Lenny.

Yes on a couple of occasions I meet him at Crystal Palace Gym.
You are correct I won a Few National Titles in Powerlifting & Then Bodybuilding.
Still Training As hard as I can & Others - Motorcycle accident stopped me from competing,
I could’ve & Maybe should’ve carried on. Only I damaged a Pec & Tricep and just
Dont like how they looked being torn.
Seeing the pics of Coach & Joswift Certainly gives me ideas of competing again.
Ha - Maybe Just Maybe.
Best wishes & Good Luck To both of them.

You know...it comes down to cost/benefit. With your resume, I'm sure you have a lot of good memories. I can see why you would want to compete again though. Heck, even at 38, I'm thinking my best physique/physical days are behind me.
It's just that risk of injury that's going to be greater with age. I probably do have a few good years left though.
Regarding Bob Hoskins...I was always curious what celebrities thought when they saw bodybuilders/extremely muscular people.
Was he impressed with your physique? Was it a bit of a conversational ice breaker?

Matt at 38 you’ll be hitting your prime for strength/ physique
Train smart / hard & intense - Plenty warm ups. You’ll be Fine.
Ha I doubt bob was impressed with my physique back then as I was around 78/80 kg
And into,Powerlift- it was a lean muscular physique- Though not a Bodybuilding X type
Physique then. We only spoke in passing / Like hello / how’s it going.
My friend trained there regularly a Knew him quite well.
There were some big strong powerlifters train there a couple of multi x world champs.
One Being Tony Stevens - A nicer / humbler man you couldn’t meet - we're still friends.
-
Does not look that big to me. Thick neck and face but the body itself is not that big. How tall was he?
-
In his mind he probably thought he looked like this?!
