California's Governor Newsom is a pure liberal, but because of his liberal Democratic views, and he is against Trump, he is literally trying to block counties that have flattened the virus, and are trying to start opening up from doing so. The guy just does not care anymore and is so against business. Los Angeles currently is at 40% employment rate, meaning that 60% of the people are unemployed. How much more after 7 weeks of lockdown does he think it is ok.
What bothers me is that he is NOT letting counties decide themselves, and rather overruling the judgement of doctors, people in their own place because he feels like being a dictator. This needs to stop.
And the protests are only going to get larger until he lets each place decide themselves.

That’s what California gets for having liberalism.

Beach cities told Newscum to fuck himself. He's trying to incite violence so he can call out the National Guard.

From many facebooks posts which I agree with
I must admit I am very impressed how smart the Covid19 virus really is... It doesn't contaminate you at Walmart, Target, Costco, supermarkets, marijuana shops, etc... But it sure will get your ass at hair salons, nail salons, restaurants, bars and any other small business... and don’t forget outside on public land, on beaches, Drive-Ins, fishing, golfing and camping! Tricky little bastard
It isnt just about the 'beaches' - I could care less about that. It is about opening up all business who can practice safe distancing, with masks in public places (especially anywhere indoors). Anywhere which has a plan that can put people 6 feet apart, let them open. If they cannot, they stay closed. Simple as that.
No shit. He should spend more time fixing his shitty upgrade rather than crying about beaches which don't want him there anyways
Flamer is working on that, we knew there would be issues with migrating 7+ million messages, and once you reach 1,500 people at one time looking, always issues. Why we did it on the slow time. It does stress me out, because I don't want to change a theme or anything until it can handle 2,000+ people without slowing down.
You put liberals in office, then you got what you asked for
We forget that at least 30-35% of the people in California are conservative. But alas, the big cities tend to pack a lot more people who are more liberal than not.
Ron is obviously having "Orange Chicken Withdrawals". This is a grade 1 meltdown
I am. I hate watching my friends, my family, people getting depressed, people losing their business, because our idiot governor has a liberal power agenda that requires more unemployment and more loss of incomes to many than thinking on how to make it work, or prioritizing hotspots and concentrating on nursery homes and jails and where the actual numbers are coming from (40% or more of the deaths from nursery homes and jails), 92% of the deaths have underlying health issues. Facts are your changes if you are healthy is that the virus will be mild (97% of the KNOWN cases, thousands of others which have had it are unknown due to them being mild)
Yes, the lockdown was necessary to delay and flatten the curve, but after 7 weeks, it is time.

LOL. Perfect. That's what happens when you have people making policy for others while it has zero effect on their own lives -- all the while still getting paid by people who are no longer able to get paid.
Employers can't pay their employees because they are not making money so they have to shut down. Why are politicians still getting paid by their employers -- us -- when they're not making money.
-
Love Newport Beach, my second home

Ironically, while they close the beaches in California, in Washington DC they’re riding the scam all the way to the beach. Don’t worry, CA will get a big cut.

Everywhere in the country where their Governor’s keep moving the goal posts and in some cases continue and add more restrictions and time to their lockdowns is all in Dem ran states.
The libs on here that make fun of what’s going on can’t explain shit so what else is left? You complete morons that think it’s just about the beaches are just as blind (or flat out stupid) as the leftists In my state and yours. This asshole Newsom released 3500 inmates throughout the state some who are rapists and murderers but wants to fuck with surfers and small business owners. Che, you’re a fucking uneducated moron to the enth degree and ignorant as fuck.
The rest of you, keep voting blue for no apparent reason (because you can’t give one) and what’s happening today will be the norm because it’s obvious you like being controlled and your rights fucked with. Che, hows that Mayor of Chicago doing...right up there with Newsom.
Abraham, hows that complete disaster of a Governor doing in your state? Newsom makes Moonbaby Brown look like Ronald Reagan but I can’t blame the politicians until they’re in office, I put 100% blame on the fucktards who were warned that voted them in.

Keep gyms closed, close all parks and beaches, BUT please release these sex offenders, who the police have said they are likely to commit another offense. Seriously - some of us are just stunned at the stupidity of some of these officials and judges. How about they all move right next door to the judge that ordered this?
Enough is enough with the liberal stupidity, and lets get back to business, albeit socially distancing and wearing masks.

The four states on the verge of bankruptcy are:
California
Illinois
New York
Michigan
All Democrat run states and all broke and demanding federal bailouts, especially for unfunded pensions.
More liberal failure.

Someone said, "Anywhere which has a plan that can put people 6 feet apart, let them open. If they cannot, they stay closed. Simple as that.!"
And I, in all my stupidity, agree with some guy by the name of "RON" who said it.
Simply put ..... Here's both sides of what peoples think ....
Open up and RISK coronavirus or even a worser brand occurring.
Close down and fuck the economy.
Ron's suggestion is somewhere in the middle ... so according to an ancient gambling dictionary ... Ron's a middler which makes good sense and will most likely be the role all states will be playing before this problem is resolved!
The odds are set at 50/50! No matter what decision is made .. Close down or open up .... the individual who makes either decision is fucked, but the one who makes that middler decision will only be half fucked!
Hi, Ron!

I stopped reading when they list as the best States to live they had New Jersey at number three and Hawaii at number four. I had just read last week that Hawaii is the one of the worse States to retire in. It's expensive, homelessness is insane, the worse place to start a business because of the high taxes.
It just goes to show that it's all relative. Of course, if you have enough money, you can live pretty much anywhere well.

Again, it's how you measure and interpret stats. For me, I would reject the top five picks on the weather alone. Of course, I'm from Hawaii. Also, Hawaii, before the virus, had the lowest unemployment rate in the country but it was all service type jobs that don't pay well. I discount education ratings as I would never send my kids to a public school. I think all government run schools suck and have an agenda. Things like gun rights are very important to me not just because I want law abiding citizens to be able to own and arm themselves, but it shows me the attitude the State has regarding a person's right to self-defense and just where they lean regarding individual rights and respect for the constitution. It's not a coincidence that people on the Right want to open up the States and resent have so much of their freedoms being restricted.
Things like natural environment aren't as crucial to me because that's for vacation time and not day to day living. Health care is more dependant on the type of insurance you have and not what State you live in.
So there are so many factors involved that it's hard to make such a list. Again, compare this list to the one you previously posted. For me, you'd think I'd be in Texas I'm so far right, but here I am in a purely run Democratic State with a miserable infrastructure as we have sunk a fortune on a rail system at a billion dollars a mile that few are going to use, homeless people harassing others on the street and the police don't bother to do anything about but if you are walking on the beach with your girl you get cited and sometimes arrested (no joke). The tax rate and regulations are such that a business, like Trader Joe's, which many are Hawaiian themed, can afford to open up here. When a machine breaks down in the gym you have to wait about three months before you can get part replacements because we are out in the middle of the ocean. The median home prices are now at $800,000 and rent for a tiny one-bedroom apartment starts at $1,400 - $1,600
But here I am bitching on one hand but loving the sun, surf, and family on the other.

But I am. Weather to me is a very, very important consideration to take when deciding where I live and is not factored in those stats. I imagine street crime and violence would be much lower in areas that are freezing cold all the time.
My point is that there are many factors on what make a State the best place to live which is why every list seems to be different and is all over the place.

Politicians can't do much about the weather ,and there are many cold places with high crime rate - Chicago ,Detroit , Cleveland ........................ ..........
My question is when it comes to HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION , ECONOMY, INFRASTRUCTURE, OPPORTUNITY, FISCAL STABILITY, CRIME & CORRECTIONS, NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Why the top 3 are blue states , and the bottom 3 are red states

We seldom agree. As a retired person with a modest income, if I had to choose between Hawaii and New Jersey (which is where I was born), Hawaii wins, hands down.
I do have one enormous question, should I show up on your doorstep asking your advice on where I might find suitable housing for a person with only a modest income, would you be an asshole and kick me in the nuts or would you be a real man and let our water flow under the bridge?
Seriously, can you and I let bygones be bygones?
First of all, don't ever lecture me on what it takes to be a real man.
This will now be the third time I will address this situation. It's hard to believe that you missed the other two as you were active on the thread. I won't repost again for the third time but give you the link.

I don't know because there are so many factors involved. Do you know why? Do you think giving the government more power over your life makes for a better State? Can you prove that these States are successful because of Liberal policies or in spite of Liberal policies. California is a wealthy State (or was) not because of its political climate but because of its climate specifically. Beautiful weather with beaches, lakes, and mountains that they attract the wealthy that are immune to economic policies. These studies also don't take into account cultural issues which are also very important to a person that are not taken into account. Things like tolerance for the bums littering the streets, the blurring of genders, soft on crime, the right to self-defense....

I doubt you'll find a list with those specific states on top, but I bet you could find a list where more red states are ranked higher than democratic run shitholes.

Newport Beach mayor blasts California gov's beach closure order: 'This has nothing to do with data
Newport Beach, Calif., Mayor Will O'Neill slammed Gov. Gavin Newsom Friday over his order to close beaches in Orange County. O'Neill told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" that Newsom's order is politically motivated and not supported by medical data.
"Yesterday, Governor Gavin Newsom closed 43 miles of Orange County beaches, not because of data, but because of politics," he said. "In our local hospital, we have 475 beds. They have never treated more than 25 people at any given time, and yesterday they had nine people that they were treating, and only one percent of their ventilators were being used."

I grew up in MA and feel the same way about that state as you do about Hawaii. I have only been to Maui for a few weeks at a time so I have no feel for living there. I have traveled the country and always felt at home in NH. No income or sales tax helps and it's very pretty with mountains and ocean near by.
Here is a 19 ranking. NH is number two.

Exactly. These "state rankings" are so arbitrary. I have lived in NY, AZ, VA, SC and Ohio. Hands down NY was the worst state ever for business, education or health care. Now I live in SC. Just love it here. My house has a fantastic view of the mountains, the local hospital is so much better than the ones i used in NY and the school system turns out kids a heck of a lot smarter than the indoctrinated kids in NY.
As for some of the states listed as in the bottom- that's a lot of editorial bias showing. Been to Alabama a lot on business and it's absolutely beautiful. I go to Huntsville where the space research groups are - and some of the most advanced technology innovations in the US are happening there. Mississippi is actually undergoing a great transformation as well - but the high humidity just doesn't sit well for me. But some people like it.

i agree , but no matter what list you look at when it comes to the worst states in the US ,Alabama, Louisiana , Mississippi .......(red states) , are always on top of the list.
Lots of trailer park trash rednecks, and ghetto negros, what could go wrong?

Sums what's going on with these states perfectly Joe.
“I am very uncomfortable that we find ourselves with governors exercising broad, unchecked powers while the legislatures have recessed and the Courts aren’t convening,” Ose said. “Legislators and judges are critical parts of our governance and they need to be on the job exercising oversight and demanding transparency. Otherwise, we might as well be Venezuela.”

Got to keep the charade going until this gets done. At this point the politicians and the media no this is way overblown the same way they knew the Russian hoax was bullshit:

"We're looking at the states and municipalities and counties and the assistance that we would give them, we're looking at what are your outlays for the coronavirus and what is your revenue lost because of the coronavirus," Pelosi told reporters.

Thanks Newsom for our wonderful economy in the state. First state to go into lockdown, this idiot is still trying to hold on to his dictator powers by refusing to open more businesses but at a very slow rate to continue to cripple California, while other states are opening.
Then this comes out
California Coronavirus Update: Governor Gavin Newsom Predicts “Depression-Era” Unemployment Rates in State. California Governor Gavin Newsom delivered a sobering economic appraisal at his daily coronavirus press conference on Wednesday. After revealing an unprecedented spike in unemployment claims, he said, “You’ll see these numbers translating into unemployment rates that will be rather jaw-dropping.” Newsom called the rise in unemployment claims “without precedent in our state’s history,” noting that 4.2 million people have now applied for Public Unemployment Assistance and $10.6 billion in aid has already been distributed.
You know, maybe if you let the people work, and let businessess open via safe guidelines instead of trying to block everything, we can prevent this, but it seems that the California governor really wants to continue to hurt small business in California and more. Stop delaying!!! Your political agenda is not worth 4.2 million+ unemployment and more. Let the cities, and counties decide to open up, not you! How many more lawsuits do you need!
-
You’re being naive if you think he’s calling the shots. He’s getting his marching orders from Washington and his aunt Nancy.
Apparently they’re giddy about the economy tanking as they think it will hurt Trump and the Republicans in November.

Exactly. It won't work though. The Hitler-like actions of Democrat governors is doing their side major damage.
-
I am probably the least conspiracy theorist person you will ever meet.
But, something in me keeps believing that there are a very few powerful people who are calling the shots--not even politicians. People who we don't even know exist.
It reminds me of the X-Files' "Cigarette Smoking Man." Some people like that. I remember in the Xfiles, the Cigarette Smoking Man and a few other men would meet in a room and discuss important world events and issues.
This group probably has a few getbiggers in it.

Gov. Gavin Newsom destroying the state of California with his lockdowns and dictatorships.
May 7th news
California will have a budget shortfall of $54.3 billion because of the economic devastation wrought by the coronavirus, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration announced Thursday, a stunning reversal for a state that had a $21 billion surplus a year ago. After recording record low unemployment of 3.9% at the start of the year, the Newsom administration now predicts a jobless rate of 18% for the nation’s most populous state — 46% higher than the height of the Great Recession a decade ago.
The Newsom administration estimates state general fund revenues will decline by $41.2 billion compared to the $222.2 billion spending proposal Newsom revealed in January. Plus, California must pay for an extra $7.1 billion for increased enrollment in some social safety net programs, including Medicaid, the joint state and federal health insurance program for the poor and disabled. Another $6 billion in anticipated emergency spending on the coronavirus for things like protective gear, hotel rooms for the homeless and cash payments for low-income adults living in the country illegally pushes the projected deficit past $50 billion. Meanwhile, lawmakers are already being asked to bail out the state’s essential industries. California hospitals say they have lost up to $14 billion by postponing elective surgeries and other procedures to make room for an anticipated surge of coronavirus cases that never happened

Thanks Tamer for this - we agree!
Freedom and Liberty are words often and easily spoken, but their true meaning and weight is carried from the deepest essence of our humanity. From the Civil War to WWII, 1,264,000 American soldiers died to protect these words. Many millions more have fought to preserve their freedom and liberty. Today we live in a society where questioning the government or disputing a scientific idea is reacted to with aggression and dealt with oppression. Copernicus once questioned the scientific community of his time by proposing that the earth orbited the sun. Giordano Bruno was burned by holding the same beliefs and questioning the experts at the time. It took Galileo a hundred years to convince the experts that Copernicus’ ideas could be right.
Scientific achievement is conquered by questioning the status quo and being inquisitive, not by conformity and acceptance. We continue to make the same mistakes by vilifying those that inquire, those the don’t accept the norms, those that fight for our freedom and liberty. Many man and women died so we could have our freedom to live and think. Tragically, we forget that historically, as a result of our fear, we’ve given up our security.
No war, no catastrophe, no virus is more important than Freedom and Liberty. That Freedom gives you the right to choose. Not to choose for others.

With gyms finally opening up after THREE MONTHS of lockdown thanks to Newsom, the damage has been done. 24 Hour Fitness is closing down 32 California gyms permanently, while Gold's Gym Pasadena is also not going to open. Countless others are struggling, and Newsom's dictorial edicts has put California 50+ billion in the hole with many more problems coming for next year, including schools.
Meanwhile, at least there are some judges out there that are listening and ruling, including Superior Court Judge Perry Parker. Gov. Gavin Newsom overstepped his powers with dozens of emergency orders during the coronavirus crisis that changed everything from how public meetings are conducted to when tenants can be evicted. This judge now limits Gov. Newsom’s emergency rule-making powers

Our governor just extended the lockdown on travel. Because of this one action, this one more extension, more businesses are shutting down for good. They are on the news. I so sympathize with them. They said they did everything that was asked of them, hanging on by a thread and the dates keep moving further each time. But they saw light at the end of the tunnel. If they could just hold on a little bit longer... but at some point, it was just too much. It wasn't sustainable. A business, a life, that they worked so, so hard to build just crushed by another executive order. More lives destroyed by a stroke of a pen by one man who suffers none of the consequences and whose life wasn't affected in the least bit. He still has his steady income flowing in and paid for by the very people whose lives he destroyed.
This so, so fucked. And they wonder why people at some point want to just take to the streets and destroy everything. It's so, so infuriating and maddening. And we have to just take it. They showed this lady closing up shop in Haleiwa that was started by her grandparents and supported their family for generations: putting food on the table, a roof over their heads, paying for college for their children -- all gone forever. Governor Ige just had to have that extra few weeks of shut down.
There will be no justice. It will just past and soon be forgotten except by those who suffered.

Newscum was on TV last year bragging about a $55 billion surplus and how we don't need the federal government, etc, how in the holy hell do we end up $55 billion in debt in 3 months? Basically he's saying he lost $110 billion dollars??
Hope you signed the recall petition, Ron.

I never thought we would still be in this position with gyms in Los Angeles county still closed. Newsom and his LA cronies has destroyed Los Angeles businesses and the taxes they bring in (I shudder to see how much they will raise taxes next year), but now, also destroying Disneyland, Knotts Berry and every entertainment park and resort also out here (including Universal Studios Hollywood), but not letting them reopened. 30,000 people in Anaheim alone are out of work for Disney related jobs, but they were also Anaheim's largest tax feeder (and the city is hundreds of millions of dollars in debt). Science is no longer even justified anymore with this idiot, even when Disney and others PROVE they can open the parks.

These leftist governors and mayors are all tin-pot dictators and petty tyrants.
11 years ago I told everyone I knew who lived in Cali to leave the state and move elsewhere. Sadly, I'm the only one who did. All my friends in SD are complaining about Grusome Newsome and all the far leftist crap that goes on there everyday. A few own rental properties and have homeless shitting all over their sidewalks on a weekly basis. Oh well.
-
The City of San Francisco is a disgusting cesspool. Almost unrecognizable. Gruesome Newsume appears to have quite literally lost his mind.

Just got off the phone with a friend of mine that lives in Venice Beach. He said that California is becoming unbearable thanks to Newsom and the various mayors.
Particularly, he said the streets are changing. The old timers have mostly moved out and the homelessness has become overwhelming. Overall, his perspective is that the face of his city has drastically been changed and will likely not be restored given that the people who made up the spirit of the town have moved out.

Finally, after the recall efforts reaches 1.2 million votes, and it will get on the ballot, this guy decides to open up California. Never mind the lawsuit a week ago from 50+ places saying his logic is not based on scientific evidence. Never mind that he refuses to give the Covid data to people because we are too stupid to understand it.
Bottom line, this guy (and his cronies in Los Angeles) have ruined hundreds of thousands of jobs, small businesses and also let, on his reign, an incredible $8 BILLION dollar *yes, EIGHT BILLION DOLLAR) unemployment fraud scheme on his watch in 2020. Not to mention, buying a BILLION dollars worth of masks from China (really?).
Sadly, it is going to take a long time to get things even remotely fixed and right here in Los Angeles with Newsom and Garcetti's disasters.

No, violence is never the answer. He needs to be exposed for his corrupt dealings, and his politic motives behind hurting so many people and small businesses and restaurants over illogical whims. He needs to be reminded that he failed California, and Los Angeles and the counties around us in his crazy 'lockdown' that not only did not work in November-December, but it accelerated Covid by making people be together in one household (he forgets that just because he lives in a 9 acre estate in a mansion, most people in Los Angeles County live in apartments and smaller houses. These lawsuits must go on until he stops hiding and not giving out public data, and hiding behind secrets deals. Sadly, since California is a liberal 70% Democrat state, he and his cronies can get away with it here.
If it was opposite, and their was a Republican governor at the helm, people would be protesting all over and going crazy.

Forgive me for saying this...
But if your governor was executed for treason and his corpse hung upside down in the Town Square, Mussolini-style, I would not be mad.
I would NEVER suggest anyone cause this man harm - I'm just saying...I wouldn't be sad if a scenario like that unfolded.
I believe that statement is legal, lol.
But on a completely serious note:

Newscum is the biggest scumbag of all the career politicians. He also kept schools closed while his kids attended in-person schooling in a swanky private scool.
No surprise he's got family ties to Pelosi. He's been caught cheating on his wife, not adhering to his stay at home orders, and he lied about the escapades at the Napa CA restaurant, stating he was outdoors until he got caught.
This guy is a slimy, career politician. No surprise.

Ron, the revised estimates are that the unemployment scam that occurred on Newsom and Julie Su’s watch could total $20 BILLION DOLLARS.
It was over $13.4 BILLION DOLLARS as of this morning.
And I guarantee it will be swept under the rug, Julie Su will take a spot in the Biden administration, the nation’s taxpayers will pay for the mess, and 70% of Californians will still vote Democrat.
If nothing changes now with regard to the recall, nothing will ever change in CA politics.

Recall Newsom - the destroyer of small business in California!
Newsom is lucky that while destroying businessess and people in the 'name' of covid, the top wealthy taxpayers gave the state $15 BILLION DOLLARS in extra revenue. But since now, quite a few of them area leaving California, the 'tax' funding won't be there again and again.
Incredibly, gyms and restaurants STILL CANNOT have people eating inside here in Los Angeles and other California counties, only outside (and that started 2 weeks ago). More and more restaurants (small business) are just out and closed. Sad.

Do you know one person who has died of COVID?
Neither so I.

Do you know one person who has died of COVID? Neither so I.
I do. A few people. Older. Covid, at it's extreme, makes it hard to breath in older, overweight or various people, which in turns brings on other illnesses. In two cases we know, they both got pneumonia. Myself having it, the final 3 days were the hardest when it went into the chest, and made it hard to breath deeply without coughing.
Because of Newsom's lockdown orders, this spread like wildfire here, as people could not escape being together in close quarters. One family member got it, it was given to all in the household, because they could not leave or go anywhere.

Only the guy who died would know what truly contributed to him dying of covid.
100% guarantee he something that exasperated the covid symptoms.
Not trying to he a jerk, but covid doesn't kill healthy people.

>1.8M signatures so far, the goal being 2M. We don't have an Arnold, so it will likely be quite the free-for-all. (I miss Gary Coleman. :'()
Newsom hasn't even commented on the recall.

Yeah no problem, i don't doubt any of that. But i do know people who died of "Covid". There was most likely more to it.
I also know a dozen people who got it and were sick for a few days, then made full recovery.

How does Newsom get away with this crap.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/newsom-blasts-abbott-for-reopening-texas-absolutely-reckless
FL and TX have lower Covid infection and death rates, but he feels entitled to call out two states who have obviously done better with much less restrictions.
Maybe someone should let him know Covid has a 2% morbidity rate and most high risk have been vaccinated.
Gig is up on this fake anti-trump virus.

People who don't give a fuck about you cancel your rights whenever they choose and enforce any made up mandate at gunpoint. I don't consider that legitimate governance.

tell us exactly how lockdown made it "spread like wildfire"
without lockdown the same people would be living in the same household... the only difference is instead of just infecting their family they would have infected a bunch of other people AS WELL

California's numbers have been up despite lockdowns, masks, etc.... so based on the evidence lockdowns dont work.

You guys probably know but Texas and Mississippi are fully open with no masks. No restriction on any business.

Here you go Ron. This is why he wasn’t worried about loss of tax revenue:
